Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh’s biggest remaining test may be just keeping his team focused, as the biggest game of his team’s season is on deck for next week in Columbus. Standing in his way is an Illinois team who comes into this one in a deadlock for the top of the Big Ten – West. The Fighting Illini also have plenty to prove, as they come into this game having now dropped two straight, both as favorites, and in desperate need of a bounceback win.
For Michigan, 10 straight wins to start the season and surging at the right time has fans optimistic, as they come into this one having covered their past four straight. Their defense is what has gotten them here, ranking #1 in the country in points, total yards, and rushing yards allowed coming into this matchup.
Illinois trails just behind defensively, ranking top 10 in all the aforementioned categories and #1 in turnovers with +17 on the season. Look for a low scoring affair in this one.
