College Football Week 12 Parlay Odds, Picks & Predictions (2022)

Last week's parlay survived a push on the early LSU -3 line to cash after backing 2 other public sides in TCU and SMU. This week's parlay is not nearly as public and focuses on some more under-the-radar lines. Let's take a closer look at each game.

Michigan vs Illinois (1H u23)

Like any Brett Bielema team, the Illini are built on running the rock (12th attempts/game), ball control (6th in TOP) and tough defense (2nd yds/game). This Michigan team is built in a very similar style, ranking 11th, 3rd and 1st in these same metrics. Both teams will seek to impose their will with run-first approaches and grind down their opponent as the game progresses, resulting in a flowing clock in the first half.

Unfortunately for the Illini, star RB Chase Brown suffered a leg injury that should significantly limit his effectiveness if he can play. Given Illinois' relative lack of skill position talent, Brown's injury could be a tough hill to climb against a stout Michigan defense.

On the bright side for the Illini, they sport the second-best run defense and coverage grades in the B1G per PFF. Additionally, while Michigan is one of the higher-scoring offenses in the country, they have started slowly in several conference games, scoring 7 points less in their first halves than their second halves.

Virginia vs Coastal Carolina (u44.5)

The Chanticleers are fresh off a narrow victory over middling Southern Miss. Their struggles were largely due to their inability to move the ball through the air under QB Jarrett Guest (9/20, 163 yds, 2 INTs) who took over for the injured Grayson McCall. Against a UVA defense that is surprisingly tough given their poor record (23rd in yds/play allowed), I could see Guest and the Chants offense struggling again.

For their part, UVA's offense has been marred by inefficiencies galore. Against FBS competition, they rank 115th in scoring, 117th in 3rd down offense, 119th in red zone TD%, 102nd in yds/rush and 119th in completion percentage. This does not bode well for a Cavaliers offense going up against a Coastal Carolina defense that can create havoc (2.2 takeaways/game, 2.9 sacks/game).

Boise State (TT o29.5) at Wyoming

Discounting their game against triple-option Air Force, Boise State has averaged 38.6 pts/game, 452 yds/game and 222 rushing yds/game since Dirk Koetter has taken over as quarterback and OC, respectively. Now, they're facing a Wyoming squad that sports a tackling grade that ranks worst in the Mountain West and a bottom-half run defense. Expect RB George Holani and QB Taylen Green to gash this Cowboy defense en route to a Boise State over.
