College Football Week 3 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Best Parlay Bets (2022)

College football is back for its third full week of action, as week two will be hard to beat in terms of dramatics on the field. Starting Friday with an ACC showdown between Florida State and Louisville, there is no shortage of great games to get involved with.

Let’s take a closer at the three I like for week three’s slate.

Leg #1. Florida State -2.5 (-110) vs. Louisville

Tallahassee’s third season under Mike Norvell is off to a strong start as the club recorded its best victory during his tenure over the Labor Day weekend by defeating LSU 24-23. Now, with a victory on Friday night, they will attempt to start 3-0 for the first time since 2015.

They’ll try to accomplish it against a Louisville squad that has been a challenge to predict thus far. The Cardinals’ defense made huge stops last week to defeat UCF 20-14 (+5.5) after losing a dreadful game against Syracuse (7-31) to begin the season. Around the offense, there are still a lot of unanswered questions, starting with quarterback Malik Cunningham, who has a touchdown to interception ratio of 0 to 3 to this point.

In the end, I like the steadier play of FSU QB Jordan Travis to be the difference here.

Leg #2. Georgia -24.5 (-110) vs. South Carolina

Georgia is back at the top of the AP poll after defeating their first two opponents by a total score of 82-3, all while Alabama battled to narrowly defeat Texas (20-19) with a backup quarterback for the Longhorns. This weekend, though, the competition will pick up as they travel to Columbia, SC to face SEC rival South Carolina, which will treat this game like their own National Championship.

As for the Gamecocks, their victory over Georgia State in the first week was quickly forgotten after they traveled to Arkansas in week two and struggled mightily, losing 30-44 in Fayetteville and failing to win in any of the three phases of the game. Despite this, transfer quarterback Spencer Rattler performed admirably, particularly in light of Arkansas’ improved secondary.

The road gets much steeper this week, and I expect Rattler to struggle enormously from the jump.

Leg #3. BYU ML (+150) vs. Oregon

Last week, Oregon unleashed its aggravation on FCS rival Eastern Washington by racking up a score of 70-14 and easily covering as 27-point favorites. The Ducks had many reasons to be irritated, a week removed from being humiliated in week one against Georgia losing 49-3 in a contest in which they didn’t even appear deserving of being on the field.

Bo Nix, a transfer quarterback from Auburn, threw for five touchdowns on the day before being removed in the second half to prepare for this game, earning his first points as a Duck.

Speaking of the current game, the BYU Cougars, who have already faced Baylor and USF, both power five opponents, will be putting their 2-0 (2-0 ATS) record on the line.

While the Ducks are no doubt the more talented team, I think we see the more experienced Cougars hang around late and take this one in the final minutes.
