College Football Week 5 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Odds & Picks (2023)

Currently we’re 5-7 on the season for our touchdown prop bets. That said, Week 5 could be a nice bounce back week for us with certain players on fire and others trying to break the streak of not scoring. Let’s dive into my three favorite touchdown prop bets for week 5 of college football.

College Football Week 5 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks

Georgia vs. Auburn

Last week we saw Auburn fall to Texas A&M on the road. This week, they return home to take on the best team in the country. Not only do I like Georgia to cover the 14-point spread, I think Brock Bowers has another big day to solidify himself as the best tight end in the country.

While Bowers had put up good numbers through the first three weeks of the season, he didn’t score his first touchdown until last week against UAB. I think that trend continues against an Auburn defense that gave up 193 yards passing and two touchdowns last week vs. A&M.

So far this year, Bowers has 22 receptions for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Prior to this year, he averaged 10 touchdowns a year over his two seasons with the Bulldogs. It may have been a slow start when it comes to scoring but this is a great spot to keep it going. After all, the Auburn defense is still allowing just over 16 points per game and 298 yards on defense. That includes games against Samford, Cal and UMass. Take Bowers in this even-money bet.

Bet: Georgia TE Brock Bowers Over 0.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+100)

Penn State vs. Northwestern

Do I expect this game to be close? No not really, especially after what we saw from Penn State against Iowa last week. That said, Northwestern has one of the worst run defenses in the country. Currently, they allow 184.5 rushing yards per game and they’ve given up 9 rushing touchdowns so far this year.

For Penn State, they average 210 rushing yards per game and they’ve already scored 10 rushing touchdowns this season. Through four games, they look like one of the best teams, if not, the best team in the Big Ten. I think they’ll continue their winning ways behind their rushing attack of Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton.

This season, Kaytron Allen is averaging 4.4 yards per carry and has a team-high 66 carries for 280 yards. Despite only having two rushing touchdowns, I think he’ll find the end zone against Northwestern. While his odds to score are a bit juiced, I’ll take it.

Bet: Penn State RB Kaytron Allen Over 0.5 Rushing Touchdowns (-160)

LSU vs. Ole Miss

The over/under for this game is set at 67.5 points so Vegas is clearly projecting for his game to be a high scoring affair. So far this season, that over would have hit in one game for LSU and two games for Ole Miss. For the bettors that like to sweat on the under, this might be one for you. That said, LSU is averaging almost 43 points per game and that’s with a bad game against Florida State to start the season.

Regardless of how the team is doing, there’s one player on LSU that is red hot right now: wide receiver Malik Nabers. In his last three games, he has 26 receptions for 456 yards and five touchdowns for the Tigers.

Sure, when you look at team defensive stats in college football, Ole Miss has been pretty good against the pass. They’ve only given up four passing touchdowns this season and they’re only allowing 6.9 yards per reception. However, Nabers is the most talented receiver the Rebels have played all season. Currently, Nabers is averaging 16.3 yards per catch and the LSU offense is really starting to get in a rhythm. I expect that to continue against Ole Miss this week, especially for Malik Nabers.

Bet: LSU WR Malik Nabers Over 0.5 Receiving Touchdowns (-145)
