College Football Same Game Parlay Picks: Week 5

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

#8 USC Trojans at Colorado Buffalos

  • Leg 1: USC -21.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Caleb Williams Over 3.5 Passing Touchdowns (-108)
  • Leg 3: Tahj Washington Over 62.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

USC had a scare last week against Arizona State, but they would break away later and get a two-possession win. This team continues to run through defenses, and their 55 points per game lead the nation. The Colorado hype train didn’t just slow down last week, but it stopped altogether. The Buffaloes had no answer in their first conference matchup against Oregon, as their defense couldn’t stop the Ducks, and they couldn’t move the ball on offense. USC does not possess the defense Oregon has, so I believe Colorado will have more points, but no one has been able to stop the Trojans offense, and they’ve been able to score almost at will all season.

Caleb Williams is trying to get into Archie Griffin territory by being a two-time Heisman winner, and it’s looking good as he’s favored in some books. He’s on a great run at the moment, with three touchdown passes in six straight games stemming from last year. Colorado has allowed three passing touchdowns in back-to-back games, and Williams can do one better.

Williams likes to spread the ball, but he has a few favorites. Tahj Washington only had one catch last week, but it was a 45-yard touchdown. When Washington gets the ball, it’s usually for a big play. Last week, Colorado allowed four different wide receivers to have four or more catches, and once again, they won’t have Travis Hunter.

#7 Washington Huskies at Arizona Wildcats

  • Leg 1: Over 65.5 Total Points (-110)
  • Leg 2: Michael Penix Jr. Over 381.5 Passing Yards (-114)
  • Leg 3: Rome Odunze Over 109.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Washington is one of the most exciting teams to watch this season. Their offense has been dynamic behind Michael Penix Jr., and their 49.8 points per game is third in the nation. Arizona is off to a 3-1 start, and their quarterback Jayden De Laura is on pace to set career highs in passing yards and touchdowns. This game was fantastic to watch last year as each offense exchanged blows, and it looks to be that way again this year.

Penix Jr. is putting up impressive numbers, leading the country in passing touchdowns and second in passing efficiency. Vegas has noticed, with several books having him as a Heisman Trophy favorite over Caleb Willams. Penix Jr. torched this Wildcats secondary last year with a season-high 516 yards and four touchdowns. Arizona’s pass defense isn’t much better, as they’re 76th in passing yards per completion, and Penix is 11th in passing yards per completion.

The Huskies have NFL-caliber receivers, but nobody has been better than Rome Odunze. When Penix Jr. came over from Indiana, he immediately connected with Oduze, which moved him to the WR. Odunze had a season-high 169 receiving yards to go along with two touchdowns in this game last year and will reach the century mark again.

Parlay Odds: +573

#10 Utah Utes at #16 Oregon State Beavers

  • Leg 1: Under 44.5 Total Points (-110)
  • Leg 2: DJ Uiagalelei Jr. Under 207.5 Passing Yards (-114)
  • Leg 3: Damien Martinez Under 80.5 Receiving Yards (-114)

Utah will not have Cam Rising again, and Nate Johnson will get the start, but they’re doing well as the reigning Pac-12 champs are 4-0. Oregon State’s identity is through their run game, and it looks like they’ll have the top defense again in the Pac-12. I think we’ll see a non-traditional, smash-mouth Pac-12 game. Both teams like to run the ball, and each run defense is currently in the top ten.

DJ Uiagalelei started the season playing fantastically, but the last few games have not gone well. Turnover issues that plagued him at Clemson have resurfaced, and he’s thrown three picks in the previous two games. This will be the first passing defense he’s faced ranked in the top 60, and I think if Oregon State wants to win, they’ll try to run more.

As mentioned, Utah is an incredible run defense that ranks third in yards allowed per game and carries. Additionally, this isn’t a case where you can say they haven’t seen anybody good; they held  Florida’s Trevor Etienne to just 25 yards.

Parlay Odds: +573
