College Football Week 6 Anytime Touchdown Scorer Odds & Picks (2023)
We're currently 6-8 on the season for our touchdown prop bets. We haven't had a perfect week yet, so I hope you're not parlaying these bets. That said, last week was a tough one, but we did go 1-1 on the weekend. Georgia tight end Brock Bowers saved the weekend. Still, how are there 104 points scored between LSU and Ole Miss, and Malik Nabers doesn't score once?
That's just a bad beat.
With that, we move onto week 6 of the College Football season, and it becomes bittersweet. We're halfway through the season, so let's try to hit all three of these for the weekend.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Oklahoma @ Texas
Texas-Oklahoma is one of the best rivalries in College Football. The Red River Showdown has been known to produce high-scoring games, especially these last three seasons. In 2020, there were 98 total points scored. In 2021, there were 103 total points scored, and last year there were 49 total points scored. In last seasonâs game, Texas won 49-0, but I expect the game this year to be a little bit more competitive.
This game will be a physical one, with both teamsâ defenses being ranked in the top 30 of the country. Currently, Oklahoma is ranked 30th in the country with 318 yards allowed per game, and their 212.8 passing yards per game is ranked 51st in the country. The difference in this game is how efficient Texas QB Quinn Ewers has been to start the season.
Right now, Ewers is completing 66% of his passes and has 10 touchdowns to one interception. While he's shown that he can throw the ball to anyone, the top receiver in this Texas offense is Xavier Worthy. Currently, he sits at 26 receptions for 345 yards and three touchdowns. He's always one big play away from taking it to the house. Much of that is due to his speed. With the way Ewers is releasing the ball quickly or showing his ability to step up and around the pocket, it leads to a potential big day from Worthy.
In two career games against the Sooners, Worthy has 12 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns. Some of his best career performances have come from this rivalry game, and I expect the same this weekend. The last time we put money on Worthy scoring a touchdown, he didn't disappoint. I don't expect him to this weekend, either.
Bet: Texas WR Xavier Worthy Over 0.5 Receiving Touchdowns (+100)
Virginia Tech @ Florida State
I'm slightly surprised at how low the odds are for Trey Benson to score a rushing touchdown in this game. Certainly, his usage isn't near where it needs to be with only 40 carries this season, but this matchup is an intriguing one.
Virginia Tech heads to Tallahassee as a 24.0-point underdog. Meanwhile, their defense allows 177.6 rushing yards per game. That total is the 25th-worst rush defense in the country. Two weeks ago against Marshall, their running back Rasheen Ali ran for 174 yards and two touchdowns.
In addition to that, the Hokies have given up a rushing touchdown in three of their five games, and in total, they've allowed nine rushing touchdowns this season. Against the Hokies, I think Benson can easily reach double-digit carries, which he's only done twice so far this season. But with the Seminoles coming off a bye week, it feels like a get-right spot for Benson.
Bet: Florida State RB Trey Benson Over 0.5 Rushing Touchdowns (-135)
Purdue @ Iowa
Don't look now, but running back Tyrone Tracy Jr. has scored in every single game the Boilermakers have played in so far. To go along with that, the Iowa run defense hasn't given up a single rushing touchdown this season. Certainly, streaks are meant to be broken, but which streak gets broken first?
So far this season, the Boilermakers average 150.2 rushing yards per game, and the Iowa defense gives up 138.2 rushing yards per game. In addition, the spread only has Iowa as a 2.0-point favorite, and the total is only set at 38.5 points. That indicates that Vegas expects this game to be close and low-scoring.
Whether both teams only score 14 to 21 points each remains to be seen, but I think the skillset of Tracy Jr. is the difference maker. He can punch it into the end zone from one or two yards out, but he's also got the explosiveness needed to take it the distance from midfield. Keep in mind that before playing for Purdue, Tracy had spent four seasons with the Hawkeyes. This is a redemption spot for him, and I think Purdue could potentially pull off an upset on the road here.
Bet: Purdue RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. Over 0.5 Rushing Touchdowns (+165)
