Michigan Wolverines vs. Washington Huskies
The Washington Huskies traveled to New Jersey on a short week and lost to Rutgers because they were super undisciplined. But if Washington can ignore all the penalties that derailed drives and cost them the game, theyâll be an outstanding team moving forward.
The Huskies, led by Will Rogers, have added 25.20 points per game. Rogers has also thrown for 1,354 yards and ten touchdowns with no interceptions. There have been bad snaps, penalties, and stupid play from Washington. But if thereâs any reason to believe, itâs the fact that Rogers hasnât thrown a single interception against some excellent defenses this season.
On the other hand, Michigan lacks quarterback play. The team started with Davis Warren but has decided on Alex Orji over the last couple of games. Michigan has won. But Orji still lacks throwing the football. Heâs a more efficient runner, which has helped Michigan score more.
That said, Washington has held four opponents to an average of just 128 yards passing and 121.80 yards on the ground. The Huskies are an elite defense led by an exciting secondary. Itâs also rare for Washington to miss tackles and the run defense swarms.
On the other hand, Michigan has scored 24.8 points but has also allowed 21.40 points per game. The defense didnât get a fair shake at the start of the season with Davis Warrenâs six interceptions. However, the Wolverines have still allowed 24 points in each of the last two games to USC and Minnesota at home.
Ultimately, this will be Michiganâs first road test of the season, and the offense will likely struggle against a fierce Washington team.
Iâll take Washington at -2.5.
Pick: Washington -2.5 (-110)
Tennessee Volunteers vs. Arkansas Razorbacks
Tennessee will compete for a National Championship this season. Thereâs no doubt about it. However, in the SEC, a 14-point spread on the road against Arkansas is too much.
Arkansas has averaged 35.8 points per game, adding 283 yards in the air and another 212 yards on the ground. The Razorbacks knocked off Auburn and lost a tight one at home to Texas A&M, 21-17. But if nothing else, at least Arkansas has been tested a little more.
The Razorbacks have already faced Oklahoma State and Auburn on the road and had home games against quality opponents like UAB and Texas A&M.
Tennesseeâs first real test came in Week 4 against Oklahoma on the road, where they earned a 25-15 win. But Oklahoma was an interception away from potentially losing to Auburn. Tennessee controlled the game but ultimately allowed a late touchdown from Oklahoma that pushed the game to ten points.
But I totally believe Arkansas can add more than 15 points against Tennessee. JaâQuinden Jackson already has 509 yards on the ground for nine touchdowns. Itâll just be up to Taylen Green to limit the interceptions and be really smart with the ball at home.
Iâll trust him. Take Arkansas at +14 (-115) in this one.
Pick: Arkansas +14 (-115)
