College Football Week 9 Odds, Picks & Prediction: Michigan State vs. Michigan

The battle for Michigan has the highest spread in 10 years, as the #4 Wolverines welcome in the unranked Spartans for a Saturday night matchup. The Wolverines will also be looking for revenge, losing their past two in this matchup by a combined seven points. So far this season, Michigan has yet to really be tested, with a September 24th win over Maryland (34-27) their closest win up to this point.

QB JJ McCarthy has this offensive humming right along, averaging 42.7 points per game of offense to rank #6 in the country in that metric. On defense, however, is where the Wolverines have shined, allowing just 12.1 points and 250 total yards per game, both top five in the country.

As for the Spartans, the offense led by Payton Thorne has been brutal to watch. Averaging just 349 total yards per game, the Spartans have failed to get any kind of cohesiveness since Kenneth Walker III departed for the NFL. Look for the Wolverines to put it on them in this spot.

Michigan -21
