Top College Football Picks: Week 9 (Wednesday)
Liberty vs. Kennesaw State
Itâs been a rough transition to FBS for Kennesaw State. Theyâve started off the season 0-6 and have not played a single game within one score. Unfortunately for them the schedule will only be getting tougher starting with Liberty on Wednesday night. The Flames are picking up where they left off after an NY6 Bowl appearance in 2023. Liberty is 5-0 and scoring 33 PPG, but theyâre only 1-4 ATS. Normally this would be another spot I would consider fading the Flames, but Kennesaw State is a team that wonât be able to take advantage of this. The Owls are 1-5 ATS and have failed to cover the last five by an average of 11.2 points. Theyâre ranked 131st of 134 FBS teams in EPA per play. Liberty had their scare last week against FIU. They should come out more focused and roll Kennesaw State in this Wednesday night CUSA action.
Pick: Liberty -25.5

Middle Tennessee State vs. Jacksonville State
The Blue Raiders have dominated the all-time series vs. Jacksonville State, compiling a record of 18-3-2 since they first played in 1927. However, the Gamecocks have won the last two and are heavily favored to make it three in a row Wednesday night. Middle Tennessee has had issues on both sides of the ball this year, gaining just over 330 yards per game and scoring just 16.4. The struggle has been even worse for a defense giving up 35.4 points per game. On the other hand, Jacksonville State has succeeded in getting past its early season troubles (0-3 start) to win three in a row and be one of three remaining undefeated teams in CUSA. However, while the Gamecocks have a decent passing game and an excellent rushing attack, the defense has had trouble slowing down opposing offenses (30.8 ppg allowed). It's a good thing the offense averaged 39.3 ppg. It is hard to see Middle Tennessee putting up much of a fight in this game. Jacksonville State outclasses them in every way.
Pick: Jacksonville State -20.5
