French Open 2022: Stefanos Tsitsipas Betting Odds, Preview & Prediction
History was made on the Men's side at the Australian Open earlier this season, as Rafael Nadal defeated Daniil Medvedev for his 21st Grand Slam title. That broke a three-way tie that he was previously a part of with Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who each have won 20 career Grand Slams.
The second major of the tennis season is the French Open at Roland Garros, which will run from May 22nd to June 5th. The clay surface is difficult for even the best of players to adapt to, as evidenced by the fact that just three of Federer's and Djokovic's combined 40 Grand Slam titles have been won at Roland Garros. Even Pete Sampras, who ranks fourth on the all-time list of Grand Slam champions, never won a French Open title.
This is the first annual BettingPros Guide to the French Open, where we will highlight several of the top contenders from both the Men's and Women's Draws.
Is Rafael Nadal a shoo-in for his 14th French Open title, which would be five more than any other player won at any Grand Slam event? Will we have our ninth different women's champion in the last nine years? Or can Barbora Krejcikova become the first repeat champion since Justine Henin's three-peat from 2005-07?
Read on for our thoughts and predictions for Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2022 French Open.

Stefanos Tsitsipas French Open History
Tsitsipas is playing in his sixth French Open and has made it further every year since losing in the first round in 2017. Last year was Tsitsipas' best chance at a title at Roland Garros, but he failed to seal the deal against Novak Djokovic in the final after winning the first two sets. Djokovic lost just nine games over the last three sets to complete the comeback. Tsitsipas is 15-5 in his career at the French Open.
Stefanos Tsitsipas Recent Form
As is expected of the No. 5 ranked player in the world, Tsitsipas has not been part of any colossal upsets in recent tournaments. His only losses are to No. 1 ranked Novak Djokovic, No. 3 ranked Alexander Zverev, and twice to Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, who has the second-best odds to win the French Open. In addition, Tsitsipas is 3-4 in seven finals appearances on clay courts (all since 2020). All things considered, Tsitsipas is considered in great form entering the French Open, having made the semifinals or beyond in three of his last four tournaments.
Stefanos Tsitsipas French Open Predictions
The Pick: Stefanos Tsitsipas Menâs Quarter 3 Winner (-140 via FanDuel)
Tsitsipas was just one set away from winning at Roland Garros last year, which will likely fuel him entering this yearâs French Open. There is little doubt that the Greek is the favorite in his quarter, with Casper Ruud (+310) the only other challenger with shorter than +1600 odds to reach the semifinals. However, winning the quarter is as far as we are willing to take Tsitsipas, especially since a player like Carlos Alcaraz has defeated him three times this calendar year.
If you like Tsitsipasâ draw once he reaches the semifinals, you could get involved with backing his moneyline odds with in-tournament wagers. However, the safest bet, for now, is just to back him to reach the semifinals.
