Will Rogers Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+102)

The LSU secondary looks horrendous. The Tigers couldn’t get many stops against Florida State in Week 1 and then struggled early against Grambling State last weekend. The secondary doesn’t have many returning players. They’ve also endured some injuries.

With the Tigers projected to win this game by 9.5 points, Mississippi State will likely throw a lot. The LSU offense will likely score at will. But the defense will probably have their mistakes, especially in that secondary.

Will Rogers has already thrown for five touchdowns in two games this season. That’s above a 1.5 per-game average.

Mississippi State only threw the ball 17 times last week against Arizona in a 31-24 win. But Rogers is a veteran in college football and will get his throws. He’s at least trusted, especially around the red zone. Plus, LSU’s run defense is excellent as long as they can convert their tackles better.

Take Rodgers to throw for at least two touchdowns.

NFL Best Bets

Justin Herbert OVER 277.5 passing yards

Justin Herbert travels to Nashville, Tenn., to face a porous Titans pass defense that allowed 274.8 passing yards a game last year and gave up 305 passing yards to Derek Carr and the Saints in Week 1. The Tennessee defense tends to be a pass funnel since the Titans are so good against the run and so bad against the pass. The Chargers ran more than they passed against the Dolphins in Week 1, but with RB Austin Ekeler questionable with an ankle injury, it seems unlikely the Chargers will be run-heavy in this one.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Seattle Mariners

George Kirby is one of three members of the Seattle Mariners rotation that has 17-plus quality starts this season, while no other team in MLB has three pitchers with at least 15. With this game being in Seattle, Kirby should be up to the challenge of facing a potent Los Angeles Dodgers lineup, given that his 2.87 ERA in 12 home starts ranks fourth among all AL starters, and his 0.89 WHIP in that split leads the Majors.

The Dodgers have been cautious with MVP candidate Mookie Betts after he fouled a ball off his foot a week ago, and the slugger is 3-for-13 with two strikeouts since the injury. Los Angeles has averaged eight runs per game over its last seven games but was held to just 15 runs over four games the previous time it played a team at least 16 games over .500.

Pick: Dodgers Team Total Under 3.5 (+102)
