Kansas City Chiefs @ Baltimore Ravens
This isn't about a lack of confidence in Lamar Jackson's passing ability. This is more about the Chiefs' defense and how the Ravens want to play. Kansas City allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (197.2) during the regular season and the third-fewest yards per pass attempt (6.0). The Chiefs gave up just 186 passing yards to Josh Allen and the Bills last week, even though Allen threw 39 times. The Chiefs are much easier to run on than to throw on, ranking 27th in DVOA vs. the run and fifth in DVOA vs. the pass. The Ravens, meanwhile, are the run-heaviest team in the league, throwing on 49% of their offensive snaps during the regular season. Jackson had 27 or fewer pass attempts in eight of his last 11 games. Jackson could have a good, efficient game as a passer and still fall short of this yardage total simply because Baltimore really wants to run the ball.
Bet: Lamar Jackson UNDER 209.5 Passing Yards (-115)

Phoenix Suns @ Indiana Pacers
Questions loomed for the Suns as they struggled early in the season, but they are making a charge as we reach the halfway point. The team is coming in winning seven straight and making their way out of the Play-In Tournament. The big three have proven to work well, with Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Devin Booker each averaging over 21 points during the winning streak, with Booker averaging 31.
The question was if the Pacers could stay afloat without Tyrese Haliburton. At the moment, it's not looking good. They have lost five of their last seven and are just 1-2 without Haliburton, including dropping one against Phoenix. There is optimism as Pascal Siakam recorded a triple-double (26 points, 13 rebounds, 10 assists) in his Pacers debut.
The Suns were able to grab the seven-point win at home on Sunday, and with the spread at just 4.5, it is drastically under-estimated how good they are playing, even if it's a road game.
Pick: Suns -4.5 (-114)

College Basketball Best Bets

Michigan State @ #13 Wisconsin
Michigan State looked like a team in peril, going 9-7 through its first 16 games and losing four of its first five Big Ten contests. However, in true Tom Izzo fashion, he has the Spartans rounding into peak form, winning three straight games to even their record at 4-4 in the league, with those three victories coming by an average of 10 points per game.
The Spartans' winning streak largely is due to a solid defensive effort, as they have held their last three opponents (Rutgers, Minnesota and Maryland) to an average of 60 points per game. However, two of those three teams rank in the bottom two of the league in scoring for the season, which makes Michigan State's defensive success in league play (top four in adjusted defensive efficiency and 3-point percentage allowed) overvalued.
Michigan State entered its game against Illinois two weeks ago, allowing 0.53 points per possession in ball screen action, which ranked in the 98th percentile then, per Synergy. However, while Wisconsin's ball-screen rates have doubled from last season, we expect the Badgers to utilize more of their offensive game plans from years past, with swing concepts and post feeds to attack Michigan State inside.
Wisconsin ranks sixth nationally in adjusted offensive efficiency and, in Big Ten play, is making the highest percentage of 3-point attempts (41.9%), 2-point attempts (54.5%) and free throws (81.4%) of any team in the league. The Over has cashed in seven of Wisconsin's nine games as home favorites this season, and this line is too low given Michigan State's defensive success against inferior opponents.
Bet: Over 137.5 (-108)
