NFL Best Bets

Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints

The Panthers are awful against the run and continue to get exploited every game. Alvin Kamara's odds to score first is +375, which makes him hard to bet. Taysom Hill offers plenty of value, even being second on the list. Hill is dealing with a foot injury and missed multiple practices this week. Still, he should see more snaps this week with Derek Carr in concussion protocol. Hill has run the ball 70 times this season for 346 yards and four TDs. The Panthers have given up 20 TDs on the ground this season, and Hill could be the next if active.

Bet: Taysom Hill First Touchdown Scorer (+750)

NBA Best Bets

New York Knicks @ Boston Celtics

The Celtics continue to be the top team in the league, with the best adjusted net rating and adjusted defensive rating. Kristaps Porzingis is questionable, as he's missed the past four games with a calf injury. They have been able to get through without him, going 3-1 in his absence.

They would love for him to be back in the lineup so they can have someone to match up with against Mitchell Robinson. The Knicks are just as defensively strong as they're third in points allowed per game. In the two games so far, they've held down Boston's offense, keeping them under their 116-point average.

Without Porzingus, the Knicks' defense will give them a fighting chance. Take the Knicks getting the points, especially at this number.

Pick: Knicks +7.0 (-110)

College Basketball Best Bets

Holy Cross @ Boston College

Boston College is in a tough situational spot tonight, as this is its third game in seven days. The Eagles head to the Barclays Center to compete in the NABC Brooklyn Showcase on Sunday. There is little doubt that the Eagles have already begun their prep for a tough St. John's game looming in two days, and Rick Pitino's unique up-tempo in style and full-court press should have more of Boston College's attention than a 2-7 Holy Cross team.

Speaking of St. John's, Holy Cross lost to the Red Storm by 46 points, one of the Crusaders' three consecutive losses. Still the Eagles should not entirely overlook Holy Cross, a team that beat Georgetown 68-67 on the Hoyas' home floor for its first win over a Big East opponent since 2005. In that game, Joe Octave scored a career-high 33 points. He now has scored 20 or more in three of the seven games since.

The Crusaders should be able to limit possessions with a tempo that ranks 335th in the country. We expect them to play Boston College tough, especially since the Eagles are not adept at getting to the foul line, ranking outside the top 300 in free throws attempted per field goal attempt.

Holy Cross is the more rested team, having not played since last Saturday. The Crusaders covered the spread in the only game with a rest advantage over its opponent this season. The Crusaders have also been 5-2 ATS in games with a rest advantage since the start of last season.

Pick: Holy Cross +22 (-110)
