Iona vs. UConn: NCAA Tournament Same Game Parlay Picks (3/17)

The Huskies started the season winning their first 14 games, and they became a very early favorite to capture the championship, but they got into conference play and began to lose, going 9-8 to end the season. Still, with a respectable four-seed, they're a favorite on people's brackets.

UCONN vs. Iona

Leg 1: UCONN -9 (-110)

Iona plays tough and is very good on both sides of the court. They have a lot of momentum coming into today by winning 14 straight and 12 by double digits.

Here's the problem, they haven't faced anyone like UCONN. KenPom has the Huskies ranked No. 4 in the country, and Iona's best competition was Vermont which is 113th.

Connecticut Forward Adama Sonogo is one of the best close-range players in the country, and he is shooting 59.4% from the floor, averaging 16.8 points and 7.3 rebounds.

The Huskies being only a nine-point favorite seems insulting for this type of game. Look for them to grab a big opening-round win.

Leg 2: UCONN Over 75.5 Total Points (-115)

While Rick Pitino is familiar with UCONN, those aren't Providence or Louisville jerseys his player will be wearing. As mentioned, Iona has been dominant in the latter half of the season, but this is by far their best opponent. Between their non-conference opponents and the MAAC, their strength of schedule was ranked 254th.

UCONN is one of the rare teams that are top 20 in Adjusted Offense Defense, so I have confidence that they should roll to a significant win, and I like their team total.

Leg 3: Adama Sanogo Over 15.5 Points (-115)

As mentioned, Sanogo's ability to dominate inside has made him one of the more important pieces on this UCONN team. The odds set at under his season average make this a great pick.
