Kansas State vs. Montana State

Leg 1 - Over 140.5 (-105)

Though both of these teams grade out well defensively, I think this total is overlooking a few key offensive metrics. Usually, the more dominant team tends to dictate the pace of the game, and Kansas State is a top-40 team in terms of possessions per game. Montana State excels at getting to the line, shooting the 8th most FTs in the country, an area where Kansas State falls below 300th in defending. Kansas State also draws their fair share of fouls, attempting FTs at a top-60 rate. Though these teams may not be the most efficient at shooting the ball, I foresee a fast-paced game with lots of free throws being shot, allowing points to rack up without the clock moving.

Leg 2 - Keyontae Johnson over 6.5 rebounds (-135)

Keyontae Johnson is an absolute beast around the rim, built like a linebacker and as tough as they come. Montana State's tallest player only comes in at 6'9", and the Bobcats rank in the bottom half of college basketball in both defensive rebounding and offensive rebounding. He almost never comes off the court, averaging 34 minutes per game, and he's K-State's leading rebounder with 7 boards per game. I expect Johnson to be all over the boards in this matchup.

Leg 3 - Markquis Nowell over 6.5 assists (-125)

Nowell proved to be one of the best facilitators in the Big 12 this season, averaging over 7.5 dimes per game, which is already a full assist over this line. Montana State is not a team that excels at turning the ball over, ranking 264th in turnovers forced, so I don't think that there will be much resistance to Nowell finding open teammates. Additionally, the Wildcats love to push the pace, which puts the defense in stressful situations and creates even more opportunities for assists. Much like his teammate Keyontae Johnson, Nowell hardly ever leaves the court, so he will have ample opportunity to get over this assist total.
