Las Vegas Raiders Super Bowl Odds

It may be worthwhile at +4000 to lay a small Las Vegas Raiders Super Bowl bet, but you should make it knowing it is a long shot. The Raiders will be a good team, but there is just too much high-end talent in the AFC right now to expect the Raiders to have a long playoff run and then go on to win the Super Bowl.

This is a stay away, or a small Hail Mary bet that I have no real expectation of cashing.

Las Vegas Raiders Conference Winner Odds

Similar to what I said about the Super Bowl odds for the Raiders. At +2000, this is a long shot. If I were considering this bet, I would prefer just to bet they win the Super Bowl at double the odds for one extra game.

The Conference Winner bet is a stay away for me.

Las Vegas Raiders Division Winner Odds

A lot has been written about the significant transactions within the AFC, specifically the AFC West. Kansas City lost Tyreek Hill and added Juju Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Denver added Russell Wilson and Randy Gregory. Los Angeles traded for Khalil Mack and signed J.C. Jackson. Las Vegas brought in in Chandler Jones and Davante Adams.

It felt like the free agent signings in the AFC West were countless. In the end, there is a lot of talent in the AFC West, but it feels like there will be some cannibalization within the division. All four of these teams have big goals for the 2022 season, and only one of the teams can win the division.

The division winner bet is a stay away for me.

Las Vegas Raiders Win Totals Over/Under Odds

The over/under is set at 8.5 games, with the over odds at -120 and the under odds at even. Running through the schedule, it looks like the over might be the play here.

The AFC West is the toughest division in football. The Raiders went 3-3 last year in the division, so being conservative, I think a 2-4 record within the division is possible.

Then the Raiders play the AFC South. If we say they split between the Colts and Titans and give them wins against the Jaguars and Texans, their record would go to 5-5.

Next up would be the NFC West. Being conservative, the Raiders should be able to go 2-2 against the NFC West. The 49ers will be starting a QB with minimal experience, and the Seahawks are entering their post-Wilson era. Even assuming the Raiders lose to both the Cardinals and Rams, their record would be 7-7 overall.

Their remaining games would be against the Saints and Steelers on the road and the Patriots at home. A 2-1 record here is possible. The Saints are led by Jameis Winston, and the Steelers will be starting either Mitch Trubisky or Kenny Pickett. This should result in the Raiders being favored in each game. Going conservative and giving a home loss against the Patriots, the Raiders end up with a 9-8 record hitting the over.

Conservatively it seems possible that the Raiders can hit the over 8.5 win total, so this is a bet I'm making.

Las Vegas Raiders to Make the Playoffs Odds

When looking at the roster, it is hard to believe the Raiders are plus money (+185) to make the playoffs. That just speaks to how deep the AFC is this year.

If we start with all 16 teams in the AFC and try to strike off the teams we don't think to have a chance this year, we can get to 11 by marking off; Houston, Jacksonville, New York Jets, Pittsburgh and Cleveland (depending how many games are started by Jacoby Brissett and Josh Rosen).

Eight teams are fighting for four spots, taking away the other three division winners. As I noted above, the Raiders will likely win 9-10 games this year, which likely won't be enough to squeeze into the playoffs in a loaded AFC. Even though I don't want to bet them to make the playoffs, I also don't want to pay the juice at -230 to miss the playoffs either. This team is far too talented to pay that sort of premium to miss the playoffs.

The Las Vegas Raiders to make the playoffs bet is a stay away for me.

Raiders over 8.5 wins (-120)

Considering the talent on this roster, even in a tough division and conference, I can't see them falling below .500 for the season.
