Miami Hurricanes vs. Pittsburgh Panthers Odds & Game Pick (2021)
One of the most wide-open conferences in college football this season. The ACC is still very much up for grabs as teams jockey for position. In the Coastal, Miami heads to Pittsburgh this week as they look to make up ground in a division that could very well go to the seasonâs final weeks.
Letâs take a closer look at where the value remains as kickoff approaches in PA.

Overview
Outside of an admittedly terrible blemish of losing to Western Michigan at home, this Pitt team has been nearly perfect this season as theyâre now 3-0 (3-0 ATS) within the ACC. Following last weekâs stellar 302 yards and two TD performance vs. Clemson, QB Kenny Pickettâs name once again has surfaced as a potential NFL baller.
His 350 yards per game are good enough to rank #7 in the country, as the Panthers are averaging 45.3 points per game to rank #4 in the country. On the defensive side of the ball, the Panthers have turned in a top 20 unit, currently #20 in total yards allowed at just under 319.
For the visiting Hurricanes, things have gone decidedly different than planned this season, as an opening game defeat to Alabama has been followed up by three more losses to come into this one at just 3-4.
At their quarterback position, starter DâEriq King was recently lost for the season, as freshman Tyler Van Dyke has stepped into mixed results. The last time we saw him on the field, a 31-30 win vs. NC State, was Van Dykeâs best performance to date, throwing for 325 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions against a stout NC State defense.

Trends
- Under is 5-1 in L6 head to head meetings
- The home team is 4-1 ATS in L5 between Hurricanes and Panthers
Bottom Line
Since opening up at -11.5 for the Panthers, this line quickly came crashing down to -9 before setting in at -9.5 as of Tuesday night. While I think the reaction was the right one, as Van Dyke showed promise against a worthy defense in NC State, I think it was too much.
In what should be a fired-up #19 Pitt at home on Saturday, I would like the Panthers to continue their momentum and QB Pickett to have yet another monster performance.
Pick: Panthers -9.5
