MLB Best Bets, Odds, Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (9/19)

We have just a couple of weeks left in the regular season. With a lot of teams still in contention, it’ll be a fun few weeks. Let’s look at some important matchups with teams that need wins to stay in the race.

Tuesday’s Best MLB Bets

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Colorado Rockies (+220) at San Diego Padres (-270) | O/U 7.5 (-115/-105)

The way Blake Snell has turned around his season is absolutely unbelievable. Since May 31 (min. 17 starts), he leads the league with a 1.33 ERA, and opponents are batting just .162. This has catapulted him as a heavy NL Cy Young Award favorite.

Ryan Feltner will make his return after being out since a line drive hit him in May.

It’s great to see Feltner back on the mound after a horrific incident, but it’ll be tough to go against the league’s best pitcher this year.

Pick: Padres -1.5 (-120)

Seattle Mariners (-205) at Oakland Athletics (+172) | O/U 7.5 (-102/-120)

The Mariners are in must-win games down the stretch and have their best pitcher on the mound tonight to do so. Luis Castillo has been incredible, and his offense has backed him up. The M’s have won nine consecutive Castillo starts, and he’s 7-0 with a 3.21 ERA in that span.

Peter Blackburn has been the Athletics’ best pitcher as his 4.14 ERA and 9.1 strikeouts per nine lead the team. For most of the season, he’s taken advantage of some of the easier opponents, as just one of his four wins is against a team with a winning record, the same with two of six quality starts.

Castillo and the Mariners should bring their streak to ten with a big win.

Pick: Mariners -1.5 (-115)

Philadelphia Phillies (+180) at Atlanta Braves (-215) | O/U 9 (-108/-112)

If it weren’t for Snell’s stellar run, Strider would be the clear NL Cy Young favorite, as he has a league-leading 17 wins. No one can take away that he’s the best strikeout pitcher in baseball, as he has almost 40 more than any other pitcher in the league and has the fifth-best WHIP amongst starters.

Christopher Sanchez had an okay start against the Braves last week by going seven innings, allowing four earned and collecting ten strikeouts. Unfortunately, Strider was on the other side, and he shut down Philly in that game.

This year, Strider has won all three outings against the Phillies, with each being a quality start.

Pick: Braves -1.5 (-111)
