Sunday’s Best MLB Bets

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook. All wagers are 1 unit.

New York Yankees vs. Colorado Rockies

The New York Yankees will face Chase Anderson today. Anderson is a right-handed pitcher getting torched this season by most teams he’s faced.

Anderson has allowed an ISO of .258 and wOBA of .401 to all 222 batters he’s faced this year. He’s been way worse in the last month, allowing a .439 ISO and wOBA of .589 to his previous 78 batters.

This game is in Coors Field so Anderson’s likely going to get torched again.

The Yankees don’t have the most exciting offense. However, they added six runs in last night’s game and should be able to build off that.

They won’t need too many runs, either. They’ve got ace Gerrit Cole on the mound who has struck out nearly 24% of batters over the last month and has walked only 4.8%. He’s also limited teams to a .135 ISO and wOBA of .301. Although you’d like to see him get more ground balls and limit fly balls, he’s been dominant otherwise, and that should continue against a Rockies lineup that has struck out 25.6% of the time over the last 30 days against righties.

Take the Yankees on the run line.

Bet: Yankees -1.5 (-144)

Minnesota Twins vs. Oakland Athletics

Let’s stick to the same theme for this one.

The Minnesota Twins are visiting the Oakland Athletics for the final game of their weekend series.

Joe Ryan will take the hill for the Twins and he’s been almost unhittable lately. Ryan has struck out 32.8% of batters in the last month while only walking 2.5%. The previous 63 lefties have hit a .086 ISO and wOBA of .216 against Ryan in the previous month.

Meanwhile, the Athletics will likely have a lineup with six lefties. Those lefties have combined for a .121 ISO and wOBA of .270 over the last month against righties. This lineup also has six batters striking out at least 23.4% of the time against righties.

On the other hand, J.P. Sears will take the mound for the Athletics. The left-hander has been good, except for his .198 ISO allowed to righties. Throughout the season, Sears has allowed a .228 ISO to righties, and he’ll be facing seven righties in the Minnesota lineup.

The Twins matchup is way better than the Athletics’, despite both pitchers having good numbers over the last 30 days. Back the Twins to win this game on the run line.

Bet: Twins -1.5 (-120)
