Sunday’s Best MLB Bets

Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook. All wagers are 1 unit.

Atlanta Braves vs. Milwaukee Brewers

The Atlanta Braves are one of the best teams in the MLB. The projected lineup has hit a .271 ISO and wOBA of .373 against righties over the last month. No player in the lineup has an ISO below .150 against righties.

The Braves will take on a familiar foe in Julio Teheran. Teheran is a former Braves pitcher who has allowed a .301 wOBA and ISO of .415 against his last 77 batters. Teheran is now with the Brewers, and he started his season well. he’s taken a step back recently.

Meanwhile, All-Star pitcher Bryce Elder will start for the Braves. He’s also taken a step back over the last month, giving up a .218 ISO and wOBA of .395 over the previous month. However, the Brewers’ offense is one reason Elder gets back on track tonight.

Milwaukee’s lineup has hit a .133 ISO and wOBA of .323 against righties over the last month. Only two players have consistently hit for power, and three have hit a high enough wOBA.

Elder still has limited line drives to 19.7% and has earned nearly 48% of ground balls over the last 30 days. He’ll be fine against this Brewers lineup. Let’s take the Braves -1.5 at -108.

Bet: Braves -1.5 (-108)

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs

Although the St. Louis Cardinals have done well over the last two weeks, it sounds likely that they will still sell off some of their assets.

But I’m still liking what I see out of St. Louis. Jordan Montgomery will take the hill today for the Cardinals. He’s held teams to a .143 ISO and wOBA of .265 over the last 30 days. The left-hander has also earned 50% of grounders and has limited walks to 7.5% in the previous 30 days.

Meanwhile, the Cubs have struck out 25.6% of the time against lefties and are collectively hitting a .155 ISO and wOBA of .306 as a lineup against lefties in the last 30 days.

On the other hand, Jameson Taillon will get the start for the Cubs. Taillon has dominated right-handed hitters, but lefties are hitting a .303 ISO and wOBA of .421 against Taillon. St. Louis should have more righties than lefties, but lefties like Brendan Donovan, Lars Nootbaar, and Nolan Gorman are hitting high against righties.

Those three lefties have combined to hit a .235 ISO and wOBA of .385 against righties over the last 30 days.

Therefore, the Cardinals have the advantage in this game.

Bet: Cardinals (-138)
