Chicago Cubs (+142) vs. Minnesota Twins (-168) | O/U 7.5 (-115)

The Cubs took last night’s series opener in 6-2 fashion over the Twins. The two sides are back at it this afternoon with a pitching matchup featuring Hayden Wesneski and Joe Ryan. First pitch is scheduled for 2:10 p.m. ET from Target Field in Minneapolis, MN.

With the way both of these starting pitchers have been throwing, I’m not overthinking this one and locking in the under. Wesneski has been on fire recently, surrendering just three earned runs over his last three starts, which have spanned 17.0 innings. The right-hander has thrown three quality starts over his previous five outings.

On the flip side, Ryan has matched Wesneski in allowing just three earned runs over his last three outings. The rising star has six quality starts in seven outings this year, and he’s looking like a potential dark horse Cy Young candidate. All things considered, we should be in for a lower-scoring affair with two excellent starters on the bump.

Bet: Under 7.5 (-105)

Texas Rangers (-154) vs. Oakland Athletics (+130) | O/U 9.0 (+100/-122)

The Rangers and Athletics have split the first two games of their four-game series this weekend. Last night’s divisional clash was a 9-7 affair that went to Oakland. The two sides square off tonight at 4:07 p.m. ET from the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, CA.

I’m riding with Texas to get back in the win column this evening. Jon Gray takes the ball for the Rangers, and he’s been a serviceable option for the ball club this year. He comes into this one at 2-1 with a 3.82 ERA and 1.25 WHIP over seven starts. Most recently, the right-hander tossed 7.0 innings of one-run ball against the Mariners Monday night. He allowed just four hits while striking out eight batters.

Look for Gray to have another successful outing against this lowly Athletics team. The A’s are currently 24th in team batting average (.233) and 20th in OPS (.703). Furthermore, the Rangers’ hurler has found success against Oakland in the past. They’re slashing just .190/.306/.262 against him over 42 career at-bats, with only one hit going for extra bases. I’ll gladly lay the juice with the Rangers in this one.

Bet: Texas Rangers Moneyline (-154)

St. Louis Cardinals (+104) vs. Boston Red Sox (-122) | O/U 10.0 (-110/-110)

The Cardinals notched a win in the series opener last night, defeating the Red Sox 8-6 in Boston. St. Louis will look to make it two in a row as they turn to Steven Matz tonight. Boston counters with Chris Sale in this interleague showdown set for 4:10 p.m. ET from Fenway Park in Boston, MA.

Neither of these starters has been great this season, but Sale seems to be getting his act together. The left-hander has posted two consecutive quality starts, allowing a combined four runs to the Phillies and Guardians over his last two outings. Most recently, he fanned 10 Phillies over 6.0 innings as he earned his second consecutive victory.

On the other hand, Matz has been below average this season and sits at 0-4 with a 5.70 ERA and 1.60 WHIP over seven starts. The southpaw is running into a Boston team that’s had his number in the past, slashing .338/.355/.595 against him over 74 at-bats. Furthermore, the Red Sox have been arguably the best offense in baseball over the last 15 days. Over the time frame, they’re first overall in team batting average (.301) and second in OPS (.858). Let’s ride with the Sox in this one.

Bet: Boston Red Sox Moneyline (-122)
