Top 3 MLB Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions for Saturday, September 3 (2022)

It’s been an awesome week for those who have been tailing. Yesterday, we finished our three-game slate, winning two of three bets.

Many of you will switch your focus to football today, but I recommend adding some baseball to your betting portfolio today! We’ve been red hot! Here are three spots I like with tonight’s MLB slate.

Oakland Athletics vs. Baltimore Orioles

I haven’t done this once this year. I’m taking the Orioles on the run line.

I never thought I’d be saying that this year.

Austin Voth will take the hill for the Orioles tonight. Voth might have a 5.46 xFIP in the last 30 days, but he’s still limited power numbers, along with a low wOBA. Lefties have a .272 wOBA, and righties have a .244 wOBA in the last month. He’ll give up more extra-base hits to lefties, but the Athletics don’t have a single lefty hitting righties consistently in the last month of baseball.

On the other hand, Adam Oller will get the call for the Athletics. Oller has a 6.54 xFIP with more walks than strikeouts in the last 30 days. He’s taking on an Orioles lineup with six batters hitting an ISO of at least .179 against righties. As a lineup, Baltimore has hit 22.5% of line drives against righties.

Baltimore has way more potential in this game. They’re also playing meaningful baseball in September.

Bet: Orioles -1.5 (-110 at DraftKings

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

The Milwaukee Brewers have been a letdown all season long. But they’re just -175 tonight against a non-playoff team with Corbin Burnes on the mound.

Burnes has a 3.69 xFIP while striking out 24.6% of batters in the last 30 days. He’s kept walks down and has been a top candidate in the NL Cy Young race all season long. He’s allowed a .200 ISO in the last month to lefties, but the only lefty in Arizona’s order that has been consistently hitting for power is Daulton Varshso. The rest of the lineup hasn’t been that impressive against righties, especially the lefties.

Conversely, Madison Bumgarner will get the call for the Diamondbacks with his 5.44 xFIP in the last 30 days. Bumgarner has been terrible against righties, giving up a .441 wOBA and ISO of .270 to his last 97 righties faced.

Milwaukee should have a lineup filled with at least six righties. The Brewers have hit a ton of line drives off lefties and continue to keep the ball off the ground. Give me the Brewers at -175.

Bet: Brewers ML (-175 at DraftKings)

Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels

If we’re being honest, the only time the Angels have a chance to win these days is when Shohei Ohtani is on the mound.

Ohtani is slated to pitch tonight against Luis Garcia of the Astros. The Astros have multiple players who are red hot and others who are ice cold.

Josse Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Kyle Tucker and red hot against righties, while Jeremy Pena, Yoran Alvarez, and Yuli Gurriel are ice cold.

So you get the best of both worlds with this lineup. However, the guys who are ice cold will end up killing rallies, especially against Ohtani.

Meanwhile, Luis Garcia has struggled badly against lefties, giving up a .438 wOBA and ISO of .231 in his last 42 plate appearances against lefties.

Ohtani is the only lefty he’ll have to worry about in the Angels’ lineup. Therefore, I like this game to go under for the second time in two days.
