Philadelphia Phillies (+135vs. New York Yankees (-155) | O/U 8.5 (-115/-105)

The Phillies are having a rough start to the season and are the first team since 1984 to lose their first four games of the season following a World Series appearance. Matt Strahm will take the mound and has one relief appearance this year, pitching a scoreless inning. Playing for the Red Sox last year, he saw a lot of the Yankees and allowed just one run in eight innings,

The Yankees continue to hit with power, and their seven home runs tied for the most this year. You could argue that the pitching has been the catalyst, as they currently lead the league in strikeouts per nine and a 2.33 ERA. Domingo German will go for the Yanks, and he spent most of last year injured, but for most of the season, was inconsistent as he moved from the rotation to the bullpen.

This pitching matchup gives the Phillies a great shot to win, but with their relief pitching not doing well to start the season, I like the over to hit again in this series.

Pick: Over 8.5 (-115)

Toronto Blue Jays (-170vs. Kansas City Royals (+145) | O/U 10 (-105/-115)

The Blue Jays had a great Opening Day beating St. Louis 10-9, and while the offense has started the season rolling, the pitching has been terrible with a 6.84 ERA and has allowed 18 runs in the last two games. Yusei Kikuchi will make his 2023 debut and is coming off another awful year. In four seasons, he's yet to post a winning record and has only finished with a sub-5.00 ERA once.

It looks like it will be another long season for the Royals, and although the pitching has done well to start the year, up until this yesterday, the offense was last hitting .133 and scored the second-fewest runs. Kris Bubic will get the start, and he had an abysmal 2022 going just 3-13 with a 4.48 ERA.

Of those 13 losses, 11 have been on the run line. Even with how these teams have trended, the over ten is a lot, and Blue Jays’ run line has the same value.

Pick: Blue Jays -1.5 (-110)

Colorado Rockies (+215vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (-255) | O/U 7.5 (-105/-115)

The Dodgers have three offensively stellar games scoring eight or more runs and two duds, scoring just one each in those. One of those great games was Monday against the Rockies, as they put in 13 runs against a Colorado pitching staff that had the worse ERA last season. Julio Urias gets his second outing coming off a quality start, and last season was nearly untouchable with a 2.16 ERA and a 0.92 WHIP.

The Rockies won the first two games of the season but have immediately dropped three straight. As mentioned, the pitching has not improved much from being one of the league's worst last year. 2022 was a year to forget for German Marquez, finishing with a career-worse 13 losses and a 5.00 ERA.

This matchup sways heavily in favor of LA, and they will roll to an easy win.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-120)
