Ronald Acuna (+320) & Matt Olson (+215)
The Atlanta Braves started the 2023 season with a 7-2 win over their division foe Washington Nationals. Both Acuna and Olson jump-started their offense, going a combined 4-for-11.
Today, they go up against Nats' starter Josiah Gray. Gray finished the 2022 season 7-10 with a 5.02 ERA. Despite struggling the majority of the year, he pitched well against the Braves last season.
In two starts, he went 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA with HR allowed over 11 innings pitched. That single HR belonged to Matt Olson. Olson went 1 for 3 against Gray 2022, and with the lone hit being that HR we just mentioned.
Ronald Acuna also only has three plate appearances against Gray, going 0-3.
Despite the lack of historical data, both Acuna and Olsen project well today, as Josiah Gray had the worst HR/9 (2.30) in the MLB in 2022 among starters with at least 100 innings pitched.
Mookie Betts (+300)
Mookie Betts went deep in last nightâs game, and we think he goes deep on back-to-back nights.
Mookie has had success against Arizona starter Madison Bumgarner. Over the course of his career, Betts is 5-for-15 (.333) with two home runs and only one strikeout. He also owned the 11th-highest ISO against left-handed pitchers last season.
Betts also posted a higher average, OBP, and Slug% against lefties compared to righties in 2022. Look out for another big night from the Dodgers superstar.
