MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Saturday (4/8)

Today’s HR Props feature two pairs of teammates, ironically from the same game. It’s safe to say we may see some fireworks in the last game of the slate.

Saturday’s Best Players To Hit A Home Run Bets

All odds via Caesars Sportsbook

Shohei Ohtani +360 & Mike Trout +375

Ohtani and Trout should have a field day today against Blue Jays’ starter Jose Berrios. We may even see them go deep back-to-back for the second time this season.

To put it bluntly, Jose Berrios has not been good. Dating back to last season, over his previous 12 starts, Berrios has allowed at least four earned runs in six of those, including eight earned in his first start of 2023.

In his first outing of the new campaign, Jose Berrios allowed eight earned runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings against the Kansas City Royals. To make matters even worse for Berrios, Shohei Ohtani is 6-14 with three doubles and three home runs against him in his career.

Ohtani’s teammate, Mike Trout, is 3-7 but with no extra-base hits. It’s safe to say both guys see the ball exceptionally well out of Berrios’ hand, and he can be in for another rough start.

Vlad Guerrero +470 & Matt Chapman +360

The other set of teammates will be playing opposite Trout and Ohtani.

The Angels will be throwing out lefty Tyler Anderson. Last season the Toronto Blue Jays were one of the better teams against left-handed pitchers. The Jays’ offense ranked inside the top in ISO, wOBA, and wRC+.

This year they are off to a slower start but are starting to gain momentum.

Matt Chapman is off to a blazing start; he is batting .452 with six doubles and RBI but has yet to clear the fence. It is only a matter of time before he does, as he leads the MLB in Hard-Hit % (66.7).

As for Vlad, he is also flying under the radar to start the 2023 season. Vlad is batting .419 with two home runs and six RBI. Like his teammate Chapman, Vlad is also tearing the cover off the baseball as he ranks in the top ten of Hard-Hit % (57.6).

Paul Goldschmidt +380

Paul Goldschmidt was one of the best hitters against left-handed pitching in 2022. He led the MLB in ISO (.402), BABIP (.461), wOBA (.549), and wRC+ (266). In 2023, that trend may continue. In a tiny sample size, he is batting .600 (3 for 5) against lefties to start the year.

Today he gets another shot to feast on an LHP, his prey being Brewers’ starter Eric Lauer. Goldschmidt is only batting .215 against Lauer in his career, but two of his three hits have been the long ball.
