MLB To Hit a Home Run Player Prop Picks & Predictions: Tuesday (5/2)

We're in for a stacked Tuesday slate in Major League Baseball as all 30 teams are set to hit the field. I'm taking it to the prop sheet tonight where I'm locking in these three players to hit home runs. Let's dive in!

Cody Bellinger (+360)

The Cubs cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Nationals in last night's series opener thanks to another great outing from Drew Smyly. The two sides are back at it tonight at 7:05 p.m. ET from Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.

Tonight's pitching matchup is an intriguing one as Hayden Wesneski takes the ball for Chicago while Washington counters with Trevor Williams. Williams, a former Cub, enters this game at 1-1 with a 4.10 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over five starts. Most recently, the right-hander was tagged for four earned runs on nine hits and two walks against the Mets. Williams took a no-decision in the 5.0-inning outing.

Williams has a track record against Chicago and the opposing club is 23-for-87 (.264) against him with three home runs. Two of those long balls belong to Cody Bellinger, who is 3-for-8 (.375) with an additional double. Bellinger is having a renaissance year with the Cubs as he's hitting .295 with seven big flies and 18 RBI. Let's lock him in to leave the yard again tonight.

Salvador Perez (+320)

There's no denying that it has been a lousy start to the season for Kansas City, who is just 7-22 out of the gate. They'll attempt to turn things around tonight when they host the Orioles at 7:40 p.m. ET from Kauffman Stadium.

Tyler Wells gets the nod for the O's in the first game of the series while the Royals counter with Ryan Yarbrough. Wells has been solid this season and enters this game at 1-1 with a 2.79 ERA and 0.72 WHIP. The right-hander earned a win against the Red Sox last time out, giving up two earned runs on four hits and a walk over 5.2 innings.

While the Royals are arguably the worst offense in baseball this year, one man may find success against Wells as he's done so throughout his career. That's veteran catcher Salvador Perez, who is 2-for-6 (.333) against him with a pair of doubles. Perez already has three bombs this year and I think there's a chance he picks up another one tonight.

Kyle Schwarber (+320)

The Phillies will attempt to get back in the win column tonight after getting demolished 13-4 by the Dodgers last night. This one features a pitching matchup between Matt Strahm and Julio Urias. First pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

Urias is still trying to find his footing this year as he's just 3-3 with a 4.41 ERA and 1.29 WHIP over six starts. The southpaw took his third straight loss the last time he pitched in a 6-2 loss to the Pirates. Pittsburgh got to Urias for all six earned runs, which came courtesy of seven hits and two walks.

It won't get any easier for Urias as he's running into a quality Philadelphia offense tonight. The current roster is slashing .245/.286/.415 against him with two long balls over 53 at-bats. Schwarber is 3-for-9 (.333) against the left-hander with a round-tripper and a double. Schwarbs launched his seventh home run of the campaign last night and I think he'll have a great opportunity to get another one in this spot.
