Mondayâs Best MLB Home Run Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Salvador Perez (+350)
Itâs a day full of lefties on the mound and New Yorkâs Carlos Rodon is the starter most vulnerable to conceding hard contact. The 31-year-old finished the regular season ranked 317th out of 366 qualified pitchers in average exit velocity (90.4 miles per hour). Itâs a stat that led to Rodon being one of just four hurlers across the league to allow at least 31 home runs. That includes a dinger in five of his previous six outings.
Jumping on Rodon early will be crucial for the Royals and trusting the team captain is the way to go. Catcher Salvador Perez has been Kansas Cityâs premier hitter against left-handers, slashing .297/.342/.510 with nine homers. Take note he has also posted a .462/.481/.846 slash line to go with three blasts in 26 at-bats versus Rodon. Count on Perez to lean on his experience and use a big swing to put a run on the board.
Juan Soto (+420)
Letâs shift to the other dugout at Yankee Stadium. Outfielder Juan Soto has tormented southpaws with a balance of discipline and power at the plate. The four-time All-Star checks in among the 10 best MLB sluggers in OPS (.966) and home runs (13) against left-handed pitching this campaign. Playing in front of the New York faithful has been a strength of Sotoâs as well. He has tallied 20 homers over 77 home contests.
Thereâs more to this selection than Sotoâs consistency, though. Itâs worth mentioning he beat Royals starting pitcher Cole Ragans for a jack when he deposited a 79-mile-per-hour knuckle curve 402 feet into the outfield bleachers in early September. Combine that with the fact Soto has recorded a .867 OPS through his first 30 playoff clashes and this wager becomes extra enticing. Back a batter who has always lived up to the hype.
Jose Ramirez (+560)
Thereâs no way around it. Detroitâs Tarik Skubal has been dominant this year and is the favorite to earn the American League Cy Young Award. Betting on anyone to take him deep is a risky choice. However, there are limited options on a two-game slate and one Guardian in particular has given Skubal fits at times. Clevelandâs Jose Ramirez is 9-for-21 with four extra-base knocks and only three strikeouts versus the Tigers ace.
Ramirez has been a superstar on a roster that tends to get overlooked. The third baseman set a career-high mark with 114 runs scored and matched a career-high mark with 39 home runs in the regular season. A total of 29 extra-base hits when facing left-handers has Ramirez at the top of the American League leaderboard, too. A monster like Ramirez is not often connected to a payout this large, so take advantage of the odds.
