Bobby Witt Jr. (+500)

The Kansas City Royals put together an offensive onslaught with an 11-0 win over the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. Superstar shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. continued his hot start with an RBI triple and a 434-foot solo home run. The 23-year-old is now 6-for-11 to kick off the year and five of his six knocks have gone for extra bases. That is not good news for Baltimore starting pitcher Dean Kremer, who has notoriously struggled to limit the long ball when on the mound.

Kremer allowed 1.4 home runs per nine innings during the 2023 season, which ranked as the eighth-highest mark among qualified pitchers. He gave up 27 home runs across 32 starts overall. Witt has reached base in two of his three career plate appearances against Kremer and is coming off a campaign in which he smacked 30 home runs. Look for him to make his presence felt at Camden Yards by sending a souvenir over the outfield fence.

Freddie Freeman (+500)

A whopping 244 home runs were hit at Dodgers Stadium in 2023. That was the third-highest mark among MLB ballparks. The warm landscape of Los Angeles has helped hitters excel in 2024 with 10 home runs already being hit across the first four contests. First baseman Freddie Freeman launched a rocket into the center field crowd on Opening Day and has a great chance to do the same on Monday against an opposing pitcher he has thrashed before.

San Francisco’s Keaton Winn has only started one game against the Dodgers and it wasn’t a good outing. He allowed six earned runs while giving up a single, double and home run to Freeman in three at-bats. The All-Star slugger was all over whatever Winn threw his way. The fact that Freeman is protected by players like Shohei Ohtani and Will Smith in the heart of the LA lineup means pitchers cannot afford to pitch around him. As a result, he’ll see enough looks in the zone to connect with a big swing.

Alec Bohm (+600)

Let’s shift gears to another hitter-friendly environment at Citizens Bank Park. Philadelphia third baseman Alec Bohm ignited the home crowd with a go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning of a 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday. Each of his two hits on the day came against left-handed pitchers (Chris Sale & Aaron Bummer). That’s worth pointing out given a matchup against Cincinnati left-hander Andrew Abbott is next up on the schedule.

Bohm posted an impressive .303/.335/.594 slash line and ranked second on the Phillies with 12 home runs when facing left-handed pitchers in 2023. His slugging percentage against LHP remains respectable at .525 when broadening the span to his entire career, as well. One pitch left a little too much over the middle from a pitcher visiting Philly for the first time may be all it takes for Bohm to cash a substantial MLB home run prop payout.
