Trea Turner (+275)

The Phillies are coming off a five-game stretch where they averaged 7.2 runs per game, and shortstop Trea Turner was right in the thick of the success. The two-time All-Star went 11-for-22 from the plate with four doubles and eight runs scored in that span. A trip to Great American Ball Park provides Turner with an opportunity to stay hot. The Cincinnati home field ranks fourth-best among stadiums in offensive park factors since 2022.

The Reds will hand the baseball to starter Hunter Greene, who has yet to figure out how to stop the Turner from making an impact. Turner has tallied five hits in nine at-bats against Greene, and one of those knocks was a home run. Not only that, but the Philadelphia star is slugging .648 on fastballs this year. Greene relies on his four-seamer more often than any other pitch. Look for Turner to be patient and launch one into the stands.

Ha-Seong Kim (+550)

Ha-Seong Kim finds himself in a similar spot to Turner. The Padres ended their home stand on Sunday and visit a hitter-friendly park in Coors Field next for a three-game set. As every baseball fan knows, the crisp mountain air is less dense and allows the ball to travel farther off the bat. Kim also faces a pitcher he has smoked in the past. The 28-year-old has posted an impressive .429/.556/.786 slash line with five doubles against Colorado starter Austin Gomber.

Gomber has given up a home run in three of his four starts to begin the season, and the numbers of the relievers backing him up aren’t much better. The Rockies rank dead last in bullpen WHIP (1.69) and 25th in ERA (5.26). Kim’s fly ball percentage checks in at a career-high 26.5% this campaign, which helps him in this matchup. Any fly ball hit with an ounce of strength has a chance to go over the outfield fence in Denver.

Oswaldo Cabrera (+650)

This pick is about the struggles of Oakland starting pitcher JP Sears above all else. The left-hander has logged an 0-3 record in his career against the Yankees, thanks to a dismal 7.63 ERA across 15.1 innings. It’s worth noting he has been torched for five home runs in those three starts, too. Aaron Judge is the logical option to back, yet his +155 odds are not as enticing as Oswaldo Cabrera’s +650 odds.

Cabrera is 4-for-5 in his young career against Sears with a pair of extra-base hits. He got the crowd on its feet at Yankee Stadium when he smashed an 82-mph sweeper from Sears 339 feet to left field for a two-run tank in May of 2023. Hitting at the bottom of the lineup is a benefit for Cabrera, considering pitchers go at him with strikes in hopes of getting him out as on-base machines like Anthony Volpe and Juan Soto loom ahead. Take a shot at a big payout here.
