Another week of MLB action is in the books, and Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees stands alone atop the home run leaderboard with six blasts. Of course, he's not the only one showcasing a power stroke at the plate early in the season. Let’s take a look at three sluggers worth backing to crush a ball beyond the fence on Monday, April 7th, with our best MLB home run prop bets.

Teoscar Hernandez (+430)
There’s no doubt about it. Los Angeles’ Teoscar Hernandez torches southpaws. The veteran outfielder finished the 2024 season with an impressive .931 OPS to go with 11 home runs against left-handed pitching. Those were both top-five marks among National League hitters. Hernandez has followed that effort by starting this year 7-for-14 with three dingers and seven RBI facing left-handers.
A tasty matchup versus lefty MacKenzie Gore looms next. Take note that Hernandez has taken the Washington hurler deep before. He deposited a change-up high in the zone 408 feet into the outfield seats at Nationals Park last April. Dodgers fans were ecstatic when Hernandez tallied two homers in Sunday’s contest. Their admiration would rise to another level if he managed to do it again. Sprinkle some change on that outcome.
Fernando Tatis Jr. (Odds TBD)
Everyone has had their thoughts on what baseball at Sutter Health Park might look like this summer. If the first series at the Sacramento stadium was any indication, it could end up a dream destination for power bats. The three-game set between the Cubs and Athletics featured a whopping 12 home runs. The ball was flying all over the place. A San Diego Padres roster built on strength makes its way north on Monday night.
I’ll opt to trust Fernando Tatis Jr. in a clash with Luis Severino. Not only has Tatis already gone yard against the right-hander, but the 26-year-old phenom has also logged a .894 OPS on the road in his career. It is tough to maintain that degree of success when the crowd isn’t rooting for you. Tatis is a showman, and launching a moonshot in a venue relatively new to a lot of MLB players seems right up his alley.
Spencer Torkelson (+520)
New York’s Carlos Rodon was one of four pitchers to surrender at least 31 home runs in 2024. Opposing batters tagged the southpaw for a homer in 21 of his 32 starts during the regular season. Rodon has allowed a jack in each of his two starts in 2025 ahead of a battle with the Tigers. Spencer Torkelson is a name that sticks out here after he sent Comerica Park into a frenzy with a walk-off knock on Sunday.
Torkelson has excelled early in his quest to bounce back from a dismal 2024 campaign that included a Minor League stint. The young first baseman is the lone Detroit pro with multiple extra-base hits versus left-handed pitching and ranks second on the squad with an average exit velocity of 91.1 miles per hour (MPH) overall. Don’t hesitate to ride the hot bat and fade a pitcher proven to be vulnerable to giving up hard contact.
