MLB Home Run Prop Bet Odds & Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Yordan Alvarez (+310) & Jose Altuve (+460)

When two division foes go against each other, I like to back the lineups more than the pitchers. I think the familiarity helps the hitter more than the pitchers.

In this case, Andrew Heaney of the Rangers will go up against the Astros for the second time this season. It didn’t go well for Heaney in the first go around after giving up six runs on four hits, including an HR to Yordan Alvarez.

Overall, Houston has fared well against the Ranger’s starter. The current Astros roster has a combined .287 average with 10 HRs, three coming from the combo of Alvarez and Jose Altuve.

Pete Alonso (+290) & Francisco Alvarez (+540)

After a slow start, the Mets have found a groove, winning six of their last eight games, averaging 6.12 runs per game.

Pete Alonso leads the teams in home runs (four) and has started to heat up over the past few games. He is 6-12 (.500) in his last three games, with a double and two home runs.

While Royals’ starter Alec Marsh has yet to give up a home run, he did have 1.91 HR/9 last season, so maybe some regression is due.

Juan Soto (+420) & Aaron Judge (+265) – Game 1 of Double Header

Carlos Carrasco is on the mound for the Guardians for Game 1 of this doubleheader, and it’s been a bumpy start to his 2024 season. It’s not because he has been getting knocked around a lot, but because his command is off. In eight innings of work, he has allowed four walks, which is causing his pitch count to rise and causing him to leave the game earlier.

Today, he and the team can’t afford to leave early in a doubleheader. Look for Carrasco to attack the zone, giving Juan Soto, Aaron Judge and the rest of the Yankees opportunities to hit.

Against right-handed hitters, Carrasco uses a four-pitch arsenal (fastball, changeup, slider and sinker). Judge has an ISO of .350 or higher against every pitch.
