Ketel Marte (+390) & Eugenio Suarez (+420)
The Arizona Diamondbacks are a very underrated power-hitting team. They rank fifth in home runs hit (200); only the Orioles, Yankees, Dodgers, and Braves have hit more. Additionally, when they are up against right-handed pitchers, they are just as good. Their 140 HRs against southpaws are the 7th most.
With Ketel Marte back in the lineup, they are even more dangerous. Since Marte returned from injury on September 6th, he is batting .238 with three home runs and two doubles. His 33 HRs thus far are a career-high, and 16 of his 33 HRs have come off opposing right-handed pitchers.
As for Eugenio Suarez, he has been one of the hottest hitters in this Dbacks lineup since the start of September. The third baseman is batting .348 with an ISO of .261 against righties.
Arizona is up against Aaron Civale and the Brewers, who already clinched a playoff spot by clinching the N.L. Central earlier this week. Civale has been a nice pickup for the Brewers this season but sometimes has a problem giving up the long ball. He has allowed four HRs in his last six starts and has the 3rd highest HR/FB rate among today's starters.
Look for a motivated Arizona team to stay hot as they look to extend their Wild Card lead over the Mets and Braves.
Wyatt Langford (+500) & Marcus Semien (+520)
Since the start of the month, the Rangers have shown some power, especially against right-handed pitching. Their 16 HRs are the ninth most in the time frame. Leading the way has been a tag-team effort by the rookie Wyatt Langford and the veteran Marcus Semien. Of the 16 HRs the Rangers have hit, seven have been by those two. Langford has been scorching hot since September 1, batting .309 with four home runs, seven doubles, and 10 RBI.
For Seattle, Emerson Hancock has been making his second start since July. His first start came against these Rangers last week, who allowed three runs on six hits, including an HR to Langford. I like to fade pitchers facing a team in back-to-back starts, especially those coming off injuries.
In 10 starts, the young right-hander has allowed nine HRs, all of which have come off the bats of right-handed hitters.
