MLB Longshot Parlay Odds, Picks & Prediction for Saturday, April 16th (2022)

If you are not familiar with this series, the basis of every article is attempting to win a lot of money while not taking on much risk. A few times a week, we will parlay our favorite picks in hopes of providing winning plays and some entertainment. However, if parlays are not your style, consider taking some of these picks as straight bets. Now without further ado, The Hammer (@HammeredLines) has provided his top picks and analysis below.

Astros vs. Mariners: Astros ML (-155)

In 2021 Flexon threw 3 games against the Astros and came away with a 0-2 record and an ERA just below 6. On the other hand, Verlander gets the start for the Astros and should keep the struggling Mariners’ offense in check who have posted a .192 batting average to start the season. Back the Astros ace to get the job done today.

Phillies vs. Marlins: Phillies ML (+105)

In the series against the Marlins, the Phillies have not gotten the ball to bounce their way posting an expected batting average of .301 with only 4 runs to show for it. Also, their starting pitcher, Ranger Suarez, should return to his 2021 form after a disappointing outing to begin the season. All in all, I’m backing the Phillies and Suarez to bounce back today and end their 4 game losing streak.

Blue Jays vs. A’s: o8.5 (-110)

The star-studded Blue Jays lineup goes up against Paul Blackburn who pitched a 3 hit shutout in his previous outing; however, today I expect some regression. When Blackburn pitched on the road last year he went 1-3 with an 8.44 ERA. Not to mention, in the Blue Jay’s 3 home games this year the average run total is just above 14. Expect Blackburn to regress and the ball to fly in Toronto today.

Dodgers vs. Reds: Dodgers -1.5 (-110)

Hunter Greene gets the start for the Reds today and looked decent in his MLB debut giving up 3 runs in 5 innings of work. However, this rookie relies heavily on his fastball and has yet to develop his off-speed pitches. I am optimistic about this rookies’ future; however, without a feel for his off-speed, I believe the Dodgers should have no trouble posting a big number tonight. Fade the Reds who struggle to produce runs, and send a rookie up against one of the best lineups in baseball.
