Washington Nationals vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Pitching matchup: Patrick Corbin vs. Noah Syndergaard

It’s Patrick Corbin Day! We all know what to do on Patrick Corbin Day, right? We fade Corbin and the Nationals.

If you look at the last couple of games Corbin has pitched, he has done well. Besides his previous start against the Royals, he had four straight starts where he only let up two or fewer earned runs. But if you keep digging, it was against teams like the Mets, Tigers, Giants and Cubs, with most of those teams struggling against LHP.

The current Dodgers roster has 156 plate appearances against Corbin, batting .288 and OPS of .847.

Syndergaard hasn’t been much better; he is 1-4 with a 6.27 ERA. He has given up three or more runs in three of his last four starts and has given up a run in the first inning in four of his nine starts this season.

Bet: YRFI (-135)

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Chicago Cubs

Pitching matchup: Zach Eflin vs. Justin Steele

Who knew the Cubs were the only thing that could slow down the Tampa Bay Rays? Over the first two games of this series, there have been a combined four runs, which is very strange for teams that rank in the top 10 of offensive wOBA and wRC+.

It is only a matter of time before these lineups get back on track, but hopefully, we can get past the first before they do so.

Rays starter Zach Eflin is 7-1 with a 3.17 ERA, while the Cubs starter Justin Steele is 6-2 with a 2.77 ERA. These two starting pitchers have a combined record of 15-5 regarding NRFI; let’s see if they keep it rolling today.

Bet: NRFI (-130)
