MLB No Runs First Inning (NRFI) Odds, Picks & Predictions (4/15)

Betting on whether there will be a run or not in the first inning is a quick way to jump into betting on the day’s slate. Let’s take a look at a couple of our favorite bets.

Saturday’s Best No/Yes Runs First Inning Bets

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook and Caesars

Cleveland Guardians vs. Washington Nationals

Pitching matchup: Zack Plesac vs. Chad Kuhl

I think there is a good chance the Guardians will get to Kuhl early in this game. The top third of that lineup is underrated and can hit for contact and power.

Kuhl once again owns one of the highest HR/9 (2.70). He has two starts under his belt this season, giving up three home runs with an ERA of 8.10.

Cleveland has the lowest K-rate, 3rd-highest walk rate, and ranks first in BsR.

BsR serves as the base running component of WAR. This shows how aggressive Cleveland can be on the base paths and produce runs in any area.

And if Cleveland can’t get it done in the top half of the innings, Washington may have a pretty good shit too. Cleveland’s starter Zach Plesac has allowed a first-inning run in both of his starts this season.

Bet: YRFI (-130)

Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Diego Padres

Pitching matchup: Freddy Peralta vs. Seth Lugo

Freddy Peralta and Seth Lugo have had an excellent start to the 2023 season.

Peralta is 2-0 with an ERA of 0.75. Yes, you read that correctly. In his first two starts against the Cardinals and Mets, he has gone at least six innings and given up one run or less, along with seven strikeouts. He has been near unhittable.

As for Lugo, he has also been impressive. He has gone at least six innings in his first two starts against the Braves and Rockies, not allowing more than one run in either outing.

We have a combined 4-0 NRFI record between these two pitchers, and I expect it to make it a 6-0 record this afternoon.

Bet: NRFI (-130)
