MLB No Runs First Inning (NRFI) Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (9/27)

As we head down the final stretch of the 2023 regular season, there is still money to be made. We take advantage of two divisional matchups as we look to cash in on one YRFI and one NRFI.

Wednesday’s Best No Runs First Inning (NRFI) Bets

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Milwaukee Brewers

Zack Thompson vs. Wade Miley

Wednesday’s NRFI takes us to Milwaukee, home of the 2023 NL Central Division Champion Milwaukee Brewers. Last night, the Brew-Crew clinched the NL Central despite a 4-1 loss, thanks to a 7-6 Braves victory over the Chicago Cubs.

These two starting pitchers matched up six days ago, allowing a first-inning run. I think we will see the opposite happen this afternoon.

I’d assume some of Milwaukee’s starters may have a day off after a night of celebrating and we may see a more relaxed team now that they have clinched a playoff berth.

Miley threw six shutout innings while striking out seven batters. Thompson wasn’t as lucky as Miley the first time around, giving up four runs on five hits in five innings pitched.

Zach Thompson has a 2-0 NRFI record on the road, while Wade Miley has a 10-1 NRFI when pitching at home. Combined, that is a 92% NRFI hit rate.

NRFI -120

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Colorado Rockies

Emmet Sheehan vs. Noah Davis

We head to the Mile High City as we look to cash in on our YRFI of the day, with the Dodgers taking on the Colorado Rockies for one final time in 2023.

This total is 12.5, the highest among today’s games by 2.5 runs. Oddsmakers are expecting a ton of runs early and often.

Both Emmet Sheehan and Noah Davis have a SIERA over 4.75, with their ERA’s both over the 5.00 mark.

A team with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, and Max Muncy as your potential first four hitters should make this an easy YRFI winner.

YRFI -170
