Philadelphia Phillies vs. Seattle Mariners

Today’s pitching matchup should be elite between Zack Wheeler and Logan Gilbert.

Wheeler is a right-handed pitcher for the Phillies who has struck out 28.6% of his last 70 batters. He’s had trouble against lefties but certainly will not have trouble adding a high rate of strikeouts.

The Mariners have struck out 23.8% of the time against righties, and there are seven batters in the lineup with a high strikeout rate against righties over the last month.

Meanwhile, Logan Gilbert will take the hill. He’s a righty for the Mariners, who has added 30.4% of strikeouts over the last 30 days against both sides of the plate. Gilbert has limited his wOBA to .247 and will face a Phillies lineup that has hit just a .292 wOBA over the last 30 days against righties.

Like the Mariners, the Phillies have struck out nearly 24% of the time and have five batters with a high strikeout rate against righties.

Wheeler vs. Gilbert is the best pitching matchup on the slate today. Take the Under.

Pick: Under 7 (+106-108)

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Oakland Athletics

Who would’ve thought we’d see the Dodgers at -155 on the moneyline against the Athletics earlier this year?

But with River Ryan on the mound for Los Angeles, the -155 moneyline has become a reality.

The Dodgers haven’t had the best of seasons. It hasn’t gone as expected. However, they’re facing Osvaldo Bido of the Athletics, who has allowed a .158 ISO and wOBA of .406 to his last 23 lefties faced. That looks really appealing for lefty hitters like Shohei Ohtani, Gavin Lex, and Cavan Biggio. Those three are currently Los Angeles’ hottest hitters against righties. And they’re all lefties with great matchups against Bido.

On the other hand, Ryan will start for the Dodgers. The righty has faced 43 batters overall and has held them to a .054 ISO and wOBA of .238. What more could you ask from a starter?

Oakland has four batters with an ISO of .145 or less against righties and has probably overachieved over the last 30 days. Let’s back the Dodgers on the road at -155.

Pick: Dodgers (-155-104)
