MLB Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (10/20)

We’ve got two games on the postseason MLB slate tonight.

The Diamondbacks will look to tie up the series against the Phillies on their home field in the NLCS. Meanwhile, the Rangers and Astros will duel it out to get one game closer to earning a World Series appearance.

No team is being sent home today. That’s always a good sign. It means we’ll have more baseball over the weekend!

I’ve got three player props for tonight’s MLB postseason action. Follow along below!

Friday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

It’s hard to find weaknesses in starting pitchers in a conference series. But I found one with Justin Verlander. The right-handed veteran has allowed a .163 ISO to 389 righties this season. He’s also earned under 40% of ground balls and has allowed 25.6% of fly balls to righties this year.

Verlander has never had a high strikeout rate against righties this season and will take on Adolis Garcia, a right-handed bat, hitting at an above-average rate against righties.

Garcia has smacked a .355 ISO and wOBA of .408 against his last 67 righties. He’s also hit nearly 29% of fly balls and line drives while hitting 57.8% of hard contact to go along with a 20% barrel percentage. If any righty can hit a long ball against Verlander, it’s Garcia.

Jordan Montgomery Over 3.5 Ks (-158)

Jordan Montgomery has been the ace of the Rangers’ staff this postseason. The left-hander has thrown a 2.08 ERA in three games. He’s also held two teams scoreless in the postseason, including the Astros.

In Game 1 of the ALCS, Montgomery threw 6.1 innings and allowed five hits with no runs. He also struck out six batters. He’s got Jose Abreu, Kyle Tucker and Martin Maldonado in the lineup. All three batters have struck out at least 29.4% of the time. If Montgomery can get those three to strike out at least once, he’d need just one more to get his four strikeouts.

If Montgomery goes at least five innings, he likely finishes with four or more.

Christian Walker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130)

Cristopher Sanchez will get the start for the Phillies. He’s a left-handed pitcher who has allowed a .213 ISO and wOBA of .331 to 316 righties this season. Sanchez has also allowed a .176 ISO to his last 18 righties but hasn’t pitched in a long while. He’s the No. 4 pitcher for the Phillies and will make his first postseason start tonight.

Sanchez has allowed 50% of fly balls to righties while only earning 37.5% of ground balls against his last 18 righties.

He’ll face Christian Walker, who has slugged a .667 ISO and wOBA of .609 against his last seven lefties. Walker also hasn’t struck out against lefties in over a month. Let’s give him a shot to get at least two total bases tonight.
