MLB Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (5/19)

It’s a full slate of games tonight in the MLB, with mostly new series matchups to start the weekend. I’ve found some value across the board in the player prop markets. Let’s hammer away and earn some profit.

Here are my three best props to fire on tonight:

Friday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Zac Gallen will take the mound for Arizona tonight. He has a 2.33 xFIP over the last 30 days with 34.1% of strikeouts. Gallen is earning a high rate of grounders and giving up just 2.4% of walks in the last month.

He’s taking on a Pirates offense that has hit a .128 ISO and wOBA of .302 with their projected lineup against righties over that same time frame. Pittsburgh has struck out 24.6% of the time with their projected lineup and has six batters striking out at least 24% of the time against righties.

Gallen’s been one of the best pitchers in baseball. That’ll continue tonight. Take Over 6.5 for his strikeouts.

Bet: Zac Gallen Over 6.5 K’s (-128)

Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays

Yusei Kikuchi will man the mound for the Blue Jays tonight. He’s 5-0 with a 3.89 ERA, but it will be hard to maintain those numbers moving forward.

Kikuchi has had an xFIP of 4.75 over the last 30 days. He’s also struck out 20.5% of batters while earning only 36.1% of ground balls. His last 89 righties faced have hit a .358 wOBA and ISO of .226.

Anthony Santander has hit a .333 ISO and wOBA of .435 against his last 36 lefties faced. He’s struck out 33.3% of the time, but Kikuchi isn’t a large threat at earning strikeouts. His strikeouts are down against righties compared to lefties. Santander is a switch hitter batting from the right side in this one.

Bet: Anthony Santander Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)

Oakland Athletics vs. Houston Astros

The Houston Astros haven’t gotten off to the best start this season. But something tells me the offense will pick it up against the Oakland Athletics at home.

The Astros will face Ken Waldichuk, a lefty, who has a 6.28 xFIP over the last month. Waldichuk has struck out under 20% of batters and has allowed 13% of walks over the last month. Righties are hitting a wOBA of .393 with an ISO of .247 in their last 104 plate appearances against him.

Alex Bregman has been incredibly unlucky against lefties this year. That’s about to change. Bregman has struck out just 3.6% of the time against lefties over the last month. He’s also hit just 23.8% of ground balls with 19% of line drives. His BABIP is currently .190 against lefties, despite only striking out 3.6% of the time.

Waldichuk has limited walks against righties way better than lefties. Expect Bregman to put the ball in play. With Jose Altuve back in the lineup, setting things up in the lead-off spot, the offense will pick it up again. Bregman’s numbers should start to rise beginning tonight.

Bet: Alex Bregman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100)
