MLB Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (7/28)

The Trade Deadline is approaching! We’ve already seen multiple trades days before the Deadline. This weekend will help different teams decide whether to buy, hold, or sell.

Throughout the weekend, I won’t be looking at betting on any player that could potentially get moved over the weekend. Here are three player props to consider for tonight’s full slate of games in the MLB.

Friday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Jesus Sanchez Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135)

The Marlins are going for it this year. They just picked up David Robertson for the bullpen from the Mets. Therefore, the Marlins are only going to add at the deadline.

They’ll take on Reese Olson of the Tigers. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has allowed a .467 ISO and wOBA of .472 to his last 33 lefties. On the season, Olson has given up a .229 ISO and wOBA of .352 to 79 lefties.

Meanwhile, left-handed slugger, Jesus Sanchez, has slugged a .320 ISO and wOBA of .433 against his last 54 righties. He’s struck out at a high rate, but Olson has only struck out 21.2% of lefties over the previous month.

Let’s take Sanchez to earn at least two total bases in tonight’s matchup.

Bryson Stott Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115)

Mitch Keller will take the hill for the Pirates tonight. He’s had a solid season, but lefties have still found success against him.

Lefties have hit a .207 ISO and wOBA of .341 on the season against Keller. However, in the last 30 days, they’ve hit a .342 ISO and wOBA of .424 against Keller. Keller has only earned 17.3% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month and continues to give up a high line drive rate to lefties.

Meanwhile, Bryson Stott has struck out just 10.9% of the time against righties in the last 30 days. He’s also hit a .200 ISO and wOBA of .426 against righties in that span.

Stott’s going to put the ball in play. One line drive into the gap or down the line will do the trick.

Mark Canha Over 0.5 Hits (-185)

Mark Canha was clutch for the Mets yesterday. He finished with two hits and a sac-fly that gave the Mets the lead for good. But Canha is much better against left-handed pitching.

He’s hit a .261 ISO and wOBA of .353 against his last 28 lefties. He’s also struck out only 10.7% of the time against lefties in the previous 30 days.

He’ll take on MacKenzie Gore of the Nationals. He’s a lefty that has struck out 22% of righties over the last month. He’s also allowed a .216 ISO and wOBA of .383 against his last 59 righties faced. He’s also hit 40% of hard contact against lefties and has hit a barrel percentage of 10%.

Meanwhile, Gore is allowing 41% of hard contact to lefties in the last 3o days. He’s also allowed more fly balls than ground balls from righties over that span.

Canha to get a hit is a bit juiced, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he earned multiple hits again tonight. There’s still some value here.
