Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Joey Wentz Under 3.5 Ks (-104)

The Tigers will give Joey Wentz one last start before the regular season concludes. The left-hander has struck out just 15.7% of righties over the previous month.

He’s also thrown an average of 65.5 pitches per game in the last 30 days and hasn’t even reached an average of 80+ pitches per start throughout the season.

Wentz will take on a Guardians lineup that has struck out just 12.4% of the time against lefties in the last month. Only Cam Gallagher has struck out more than 16.7% of the time in the Guardians’ lineup.

Cleveland hasn’t hit for much power against lefties, but that projected lineup has smacked a .360 wOBA. The lineup should also have at least six righties. Take Wentz’s Under.

Nick Pivetta Over 5.5 Ks (-158)

The Baltimore Orioles just clinched the AL East. They’ve earned 100 wins and were partying hard last night.

Therefore, it’s safe to assume that the Orioles won’t concentrate much tonight.

Nick Pivetta has struck out 32% of batters in the last month for the Red Sox. Now he’ll face an Orioles projected lineup that has already struck out 24.4% of the time against righties in the previous month. Some of those guys in the projected lineup might not play. But the Orioles have six batters that strike out at least 23.7% of the time against righties.

Pivetta has a lot of targets tonight. Take his Over.

Ronald Acuna Jr. Over 2.5 Total Bases (+125)

Ronald Acuna Jr. is just looking to put the finishing touches on his regular season stats. He’ll easily win the NL MVP and has been on an absolute tear over the last 30 days.

Acuna Jr. has hit a .375 ISO and wOBA of .487 against his last 89 righties. He’s also struck out just 6.7% of the time while hitting 32% of fly balls and line drivers against righties in the previous month. He’s also hit 58.7% of hard contact against righties in that time.

Tonight, he’ll face Trevor Williams of the Nationals. Williams has allowed a .375 ISO and wOBA of .548 to his last 27 righties. To 296 righties this season, Williams has given up a .268 ISO and wOBA of .388.

Acuna Jr. figures to earn at least five plate appearances. Williams rarely earns strikeouts, and Acuna Jr. rarely strikes out. So he’ll have multiple hard-hit balls in play against Williams and the rest of the Nationals’ pitching staff tonight.

Let’s take his Over 2.5 for total bases.
