Monday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

Dylan Cease OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-140)

There aren’t any many positive takeaways from the White Sox season, with the offense being 23rd in runs scored and 28th in ERA.

It’s even beginning to impact Dylan Cease, whose ERA has bumped up two runs in his last two starts. This is a great opportunity to lower it against a favorable opponent. Cease has a history of success against the Royals, and their lineup is batting just .210 with a 36% strikeout rate. Cease has more than five strikeouts against Kansas City in four of his last five starts against them, and they are 19th in strikeout percentage this year.

Paul Goldschmidt OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+130)

This series is a bit of a role reversal than in recent years. The Cardinals are the team at the bottom of the NL Central, while the Cubs are near the top. A significant contributor has been Marcus Stroman, who’s been much better for the Cubs since the second half of last season.

He hasn’t had much success against the Cardinals lineup, with a lifetime average of .296 with a .496 slugging in 115 at-bats. That especially goes for the reigning NL MVP, Paul Goldschmidt, who has eight hits in 18 at-bats, with five being for extra bases.

Zac Gallen To Record a Win (+115)

Zac Gallen is having another exceptional year after coming off the 2022 season, where he achieved some career highs. His control, with his strikeout percentage in the 95th percentile and walk percentage in the 96th, makes him untouchable. What’s been even better is the D-Backs are a contender early in the season.

He’ll face the Marlins, who are the team that traded him away to Arizona. He’s had success against this lineup with a .125 average and 31.6% strikeout rate. Miami’s offense has struggled all season by scoring the fewest runs per game. I love Gallen to breeze through this lineup and get the win.
