Gavin Sheets O/U 1.5 Total Bases

I'm heading to the opening game of the day where the Sox go toe-to-toe with the Tigers in a matinee rubber match. Chicago hasn't announced a starter yet (per MLB.com) while Detroit goes with Drew Hutchinson in this divisional showdown set for 12:10 p.m. ET from Comerica Park.

Hutchinson comes into this game at 2-8 with a 4.24 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 25 total appearances and 15 starts this year. Most recently, the right-hander pitched against the Astros on Tuesday and they tagged him for four earned runs on nine hits over 5.1 innings. Hutchinson was saddled with the loss and the Tigers are 3-5 over his last eight starts.

Hutchinson carries a 5.40 ERA into today's game over three starts this month and he's given up 20 hits over 15.0 innings. As for the head-to-head stats, this White Sox roster has gone 20-72 (.278) against him with a home run and three doubles. More specifically, Gavin Sheets has seen him well as he's 2-3 (.667) with a home run. Overall on the year, the DH-converted-outfielder is hitting .238 with 13 long balls and an OPS of .702. I'm going to take a shot with him to clear 1.5 total bases this afternoon.

Bet: Gavin Sheets Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135 via DraftKings)

Andrew Vaughn O/U 1.5 Total Bases

Keeping it in the same game, I'm going to lock in the over on Andrew Vaughn's total bases as well. Vaughn has excelled this season and I'd say he's easily a top-two contributor to this offense (J. Abreu). The first baseman-converted-outfielder comes into today's game at .288 with 16 bombs and a .795 OPS (45th). As for his head-to-head stats with Hutchinson, he's gone 3-7 (.429) against him with three singles and no strikeouts.

Bet: Andrew Vaughn Over 1.5 Total Bases (+115 via DraftKings)

Michael A. Taylor O/U 0.5 Total Bases

The Royals and Red Sox wrap up a three-game set this afternoon in which the two sides split the first two games. Kansas City gives Kris Bubic the nod while Boston counters with Nick Pivetta in this A.L. clash slated for 1:35 p.m. ET from Fenway.

Pivetta has been a decent option for the Red Sox this season and he'll come into this game at 9-11 with a 4.31 ERA (40th) and 1.33 WHIP (42nd) over 29 starts. The right-hander faced the Yankees last time out and lasted 5.1 innings, surrendering three earned runs on six hits and a pair of walks. It was a no-decision effort that the Sox lost and they're now just 2-7 over his last nine starts.

It's been a small sample size for most of the Royals hitters, but they've hit Pivetta well as a team. They're slashing .382/.393/.636 against him over 55 at-bats with three home runs and five doubles. The hitter that stands out the most is Michael A. Taylor as he's gone 7-16 (.438) against the righty with a homer and two doubles. Taylor's arguably the best hitter on this lowly Kansas City roster and boasts a .263 average with nine big flies and a .698 OPS. Let's ride with him to collect at least one knock today.

Bet: Michael A. Taylor Over 0.5 Total Bases (-190 via DraftKings)
