MLB Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (10/4)

We’re headed to the second day of the MLB Playoffs.

A few teams can be sent home tonight. Other teams will be forced to play the third and final Wild Card Series game tomorrow.

I’m not here to decide that tonight. I’m just looking for some prop bets that will hit.

Here are three prop bets to consider for today’s MLB Postseason slate.

Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Isaac Paredes Over 1.5 Total Bases (+125)

The Tampa Bay Rays must win today to stay alive in the postseason. They already lost to the Rangers yesterday and didn’t have much offense.

That should change against Nathan Eovaldi.

Eovaldi has allowed a .289 ISO and wOBA of .440 to his last 98 batters. Righties have done more damage, hitting a .367 ISO and wOBA of .508 against him in the previous 30 days.

The right-hander has allowed 62.9% of hard contact and has allowed a 20% barrel percentage to righties.

Meanwhile, Isaac Paredes should bat fifth for the Rays today. He’s hit a .281 ISO and wOBA of .371 against his last 68 righties.

Give him a shot to earn at least two total bases. He’s been the one consistent power bat against righties for the Rays.

Tommy Pham Over 1.5 Total Bases (+145)

The books are sleeping on Tommy Pham. Pham has hit a .227 ISO and wOBA of .351 against his last 77 righties.

He’s also struck out only 22.1% of the time, hitting nearly 58% of hard contact against righties in that period.

Pham will take on Freddy Peralta of the Brewers. Peralta has struck out 36.8% of righties. That’s the good news.

The bad news is that he’s also allowed a .243 ISO and wOBA of .324 to his last 38 righties. Righties have hit 30.4% of line drives against Peralta over the previous month and have also hit 39.1% of hard contact.

Take a chance on Pham.

Braxton Garrett Under 4.5 Ks (-130)

Braxton Garrett has been excellent over the last 30 days. There’s no doubt about it. But he’s on a tightrope.

The Marlins are in a win-or-go-home scenario. For example, If Garrett gets into trouble in the fourth inning, he’ll get the quick hook.

Garrett has struck out 24.7% of batters in the last month, but he’s only struck out 15.8% of lefties. The Phillies have three lefties in the lineup, including Kyle Schwarber, who has struck out nearly 49% of the time.

If Schwarber can put the ball in play against Garrett early in this game, Garrett likely won’t get near five strikeouts.

Philadelphia only has three batters striking out more than 21.1% of the time against lefties. It’s Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and Johan Rojas.

However, Realmuto has hit a .176 ISO and wOBA of .333, while Rojas has a .401 wOBA. Both have potential beyond their high strikeouts.

Take Garrett to go Under 4.5 Ks.
