MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Thursday (4/18)
Thursday is a popular getaway day for several Major League Baseball teams, as there are just five games on tap. Three are played in the afternoon window and are series finales of matchups that began on Monday. Meanwhile, the nightcap has the openers of two new series, as the Chicago Cubs host the Miami Marlins, and the San Francisco Giants meet the Arizona Diamondbacks in an NL West battle.

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Adolis Garcia Over 1.5 total bases (-110)
All eyes in this matchup will be on Texas Rangers righty Jack Leiter, the former No. 2 overall pick out of Vanderbilt, who will be making his Major League debut. But without a lot of data or past records against any of the Detroit Tigersâ batters, we will focus our attention on more proven stars.
Adolis Garcia has one of the highest ceilings of any player in the American League and was batting .303 with four home runs and four stolen bases entering Wednesday. There is a legitimate chance that Garcia passes his career highs in each category this season, with his current highs sitting at 39 home runs and 25 stolen bases. While he was hitless in his previous five at-bats entering Wednesday, he had hit safely in 12 of 13 games in April prior to that, with multi-hit games in three of his previous five. Garcia is 2-for-7 with a home run and a .375 wOBA against Minnesota Twins righty Kenta Maeda. Maeda has already been burned by the long ball (four home runs allowed), and is on pace for his career-worst FIP (6.58). His fly ball rate (21.3%) is on pace to be his second-lowest since 2017, but hitters have done damage when elevating the ball against him this year, and we trust that Garcia will cash this over either with one extra-base hit, or another multi-hit day.
Logan Webb Under 2.5 earned runs (-135)
Giantsâ ace Logan Webb still has the National Leagueâs fifth-best Cy Young odds (+1000 at DraftKings), despite pitching to a 3.80 ERA thus far. We expect a strong start from Webb at home in a ballpark where he has been extremely comfortable throughout his career, winning 60% of his 54 starts and pitching to a 2.75 ERA. That makes us more confident despite Webbâs poor numbers against the current Diamondbacksâ roster, as he has allowed a slash line of .315/.363./.419 in 92 combined at-bats. But Webb is also 5-3 with a 2.80 ERA in 10 career starts against Arizona, and while there is risk in this play with Webb being such an innings eater (6+ IP in nine of his last 10 games and 26 of 31 starts last season), we prefer to think another long outing will be the result of a solid start and his dominance over Arizonaâs lineup.
