Elly De La Cruz Over 0.5 RBI (+175)
Elly De La Cruz was curiously the only Cincinnati Reds hitter not to record a base hit in yesterdayâs 6-4 loss to the Miami Marlins. However, he is more than excused for an off day after what he accomplished recently. De La Cruz had six extra-base hits in the two games before yesterdayâs 0-for, and that was tied for the most in a two-game span by any Reds player since 1900. In addition, De La Cruzâs 58 stolen bases are more than six teams in the league. He recently became the third Reds player with 20 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a season, joining Joe Morgan and Eric Davis.
De La Cruz should find success against Marlins righty Kyle Tyler, who is making just his seventh start (and 15th overall appearance). Tyler has allowed a troubling .351/.431/.491 slash line to opposing left-handed hitters this season. De La Cruz may only have batted in a run in just two of his last nine games, but he is worth the price to drive in a run today, especially with Cincinnati having an expected team total of 4.5 runs.
Anthony Santander or Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to Hit a Home Run (+210)
DraftKings recently started offering markets like this where you can pair two hitters together and cash as long as one of them hits a home run. And with this game having a high projected total of nine runs, we are backing each teamâs biggest home run threat at juicy +210 odds for one of them to go deep.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has owned Dean Kremer in his career, slashing .320/.370/.840 in 25 at-bats. Five of Guerreroâs eight hits against Kremer have gone for extra bases - four of them have been home runs. He has hit safely in 19 straight games (the seventh-longest hitting streak by a Blue Jays player since 2001) and he is one of five players this season with 20 home runs, 70 RBI and 50 walks. Kremer is due for regression after not allowing a home run in his previous 11 innings, as he allowed at least one home run in nine of his 11 starts before that.
Meanwhile, how can you not get excited about Anthony Santander coming off his third multi-home run game of the season? Santanderâs 25 home runs since the start of June are the most of any player. His power is consistent as he went yard from both sides of the plate yesterday. He also has three career home runs and a 1.179 OPS against Kevin Gausman, the Blue Jaysâ starting pitcher today.
