MLB Player Prop Bet Odds & Picks: Tuesday (4/23)
Atlanta Braves slugger Marcell Ozuna homered in the teamâs series finale on Sunday, and extended his Major League lead to nine home runs and 27 RBIs. In the process, he became just the second player in the last 15 seasons (Christian Yelich in 2019 was the other) to have at least nine home runs and 27 RBIs through his teamâs first 20 games.

Tuesday's Best MLB Player Prop Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Tanner Houck Over 2.5 earned runs (-120)
Boston Red Sox righty Tanner Houck is coming off a three-hit complete game shutout of the Cleveland Guardians in his last start, and now makes a second consecutive appearance against them six days later. He had a similar schedule for his second and third starts of the season when he faced the Los Angeles Angels twice in five days, and regressed from throwing six scoreless innings against them in his first start to allowing 12 hits and seven runs (four earned) in 5 2/3 innings in the second start. Based on that evidence of the advantage shifting to the hitters when facing a a pitcher twice in a short span of time, we expect a mediocre start from Houck tonight.
The Guardians offense has been on fire to start the season, rebounding from scoring the fourth-fewest runs in the league last season to averaging 5.64 runs per game and ranking fourth in the majors in runs scored entering Monday. It will be even scarier when Jose Ramirez starts performing more to his capabilities, as he has a .655 OPS to this point. The Under may be 78-60 in Clevelandâs last 138 games (+15.95 units/11% ROI) but we expect the Guardians to do their part in scoring tonight.
Mookie Betts Over 2.5 hits + runs + RBIs (-120)
Patrick Corbin and his 0-3 record and 8.06 ERA are on the mound for the Washington Nationals, which means we are actively looking for ways to oppose him. Considering Los Angeles Dodgers leadoff hitter Mookie Betts is 6-for-11 against Corbin with three extra-base hits and a 1.364 OPS, he is a good place to start in our fade of Corbin.
Betts leads the NL in fWAR, and hits ahead of Shohei Ohtani, who entered Monday leading MLB in batting average, hits, and doubles. If Ohtani doesnât drive Betts in, there is also Freddie Freeman, who is due for positive regression after going 8-for-41 with 14 strikeouts in his career against Corbin. Corbin ranks in the ninth percentile or worse in xERA and xBA, and we expect Betts to cross the plate at least once for the third consecutive game and do damage at the plate.
Logan Webb to record a win (+140)
San Francisco Giants ace Logan Webb entered his last start at Oracle Park averaging 8.55 K/9 across 336 2/3 innings at home, with a 2.75 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. He then added to those impressive numbers with seven shutout innings and two hits allowed against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks have a more potent lineup than the New York Mets and in theory had a good chance at offensive success against Webb, as a divisional opponent familiar with his repertoire. The Mets entered Monday 12-4 after an 0-5 start, but their lineup was dealt a blow with the injury to Francisco Alvarez.
Webb has won over 60% of his 55 career home starts, and he is an innings eater, with 18 or more putouts in 10 of his last 11 games, and 26 of his 31 total starts last season. We expect his Giants teammates to provide him with run support early against Luis Severino, who is due for regression after pitching to a 2.14 ERA so far this season (he is one year removed from a 6.65 ERA).
The Giants entered Monday 28-19 in their last 47 games at home (+5.40 units/8% ROI), and we expect Webb to lead them to another home victory tonight.
