Top 5 MLB Player Prop Bets: Odds, Picks & Predictions (9/7)

The prop betting market is a wild place to live. The sheer number of options and different things you can bet on make it hard to wrap your head around. Thankfully and lucky for you, I have gone through the games and found my five favorite bets for this Wednesday’s set of games.

Andrew McCutchen o1.5 TB (-125)

McCutchen is no longer the player he used to be, but he has quietly had an above-average offensive season in 2022. He has absolutely demolished left-handed pitching to the tune of a 154 wRC+. He has an ISO over 200 in the same split and gets Kyle Freeland in Coors today. I have confidence that he can beat this number, making it a great bet.

Austin Riley o0.5 HR (+260)

Ken Waldichuk is making his second career MLB start, and he threw really well in his first go. Riley has absolutely demolished left-handed pitching thus far to the tune of a 0.392 ISO and has ten homers against southpaws. I also like the o1.5 TBs at -115 if you don’t like the home run number.

Rockies TT o5.5 (+100)

The Rockies offense has posted the 7th best wRC+ against left-handed pitching in 2022, and many of their top hitters are right-handed. They face Eric Lauer, who has cooled off after a hot start to the 2022 season. The Rockies average 5.5 runs per game at home, and I expect them to be able to reach that number today as well.

Nick Pivetta o1.5 Walks (+125)

Pivetta has averaged around three walks per nine so far in 2022. Today he faces a Tampa lineup with the 12th highest walk rate and chases out of the zone at a below-average clip. Pivetta has walked two or more n four of his last five starts, and I believe this offense will be able to wait him out enough to see him reach the number again.

Drew Hutchison u14.5 Outs (+120)

In his last five starts, Hutchison has reached the fifth inning in each one. However, he has not made it into the sixth in any of these. The Angels have a flawed but extremely powerful offense that I believe can do damage to Hutchison and break his streak of 15 outs reached. They also tend to K a lot which leads to additional pitches thrown and thus making it tougher for Hutchison to go deep in the game.
