MLB Player To Hit A Home Run Odds, Picks & Predictions: Saturday (9/2)

Here are our favorite home run bets for Saturday’s slate.

Saturday’s Best Player to Hit a Home Run Bets

Yordan Alvarez (+245) | Jose Altuve (+700) | Kyle Tucker (+390)

I am selling "high" on Luis Severino. Severino is coming off back-to-back starts where he hasn’t allowed a run. He pitched a 7-inning shutout against the Detroit Tigers in his last start and pitched 6.2 shutout innings against the Nationals the week before.

Before those two outings, it was getting ugly for the Yankees right-hander. He went five starts where he allowed at least three earned runs and allowed eight home runs.

Houston may serve a piece of humble pie to Luis Severino tonight. Let's be honest: The Astros lineup is a bit more explosive than the Tigers and Nationals.

I am expecting an offensive onslaught from Houston this evening.

Cody Bellinger (+380) & Dansby Swanson (+360)

The Chicago Cubs have hit 45 HRs against left-handed pitchers, the 10th most in the MLB.

Great American Ballpark is a hitter’s ballpark; in fact, there have been 129 HRs hit there, the most of any ballpark in 2023.

Combine those two facts; you have an excellent recipe for the Cubs hitters.

Of the 12 home runs Reds' pitch Andrew Abbott has allowed, 10 have been to right-handed hitters. Dansby Swanson has already gone deep off Abbott once this year and has the third most HRs on the Cubs against lefties.

You may ask, why Cody Bellinger? Usually, a lefty vs. lefty matchup favors the pitcher, but Cody Bellinger is a different animal. Bellinger has hit seven HRs against lefties this season and has a higher batting average (.338) and SLG% (.571) when facing a left-handed pitcher.
