MLB Player To Hit A Home Run Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions (5/13)

Another day of HR Props, another day I like a pair of teammates!

Saturday’s Best To Hit A Home Run Player Prop Bets

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook

Mookie Betts (+475) & Max Muncy (+380)

Mookie Betts hit a home run in last night’s win; let’s see if we can get lucky and get two in a row from Betts.

Both Betts and Muncy have had success against tonight’s starter Joe Musgrove. In his career, Betts is 5-for-16 with four walks but zero home runs. Max Muncy is 9-for-25 with three doubles and one home run.

Joe Musgrove is making his fourth start of the season and is coming off his best start against this same Dodgers team. Last week against the L.A., he went five innings, giving up two hits and one unearned run while striking out five.

Despite a strong outing in his last start, Musgrove has struggled since coming back from injury. He has an HR/9 of 2.70, the second-worst among today’s starters, as well as an HR/FB rate of 25% which is the highest.

Usually, when a pitcher faces the same team in back-to-back starts, it does not go well. Look for the Dodgers to hit early and often tonight.

Teoscar Hernandez (+425) & Julio Rodriguez (+500)

Seattle’s version of the Bash brothers, Teoscar Hernandez and Julio Rodriguez, are tied for the team lead in HR (7). Today they have an excellent matchup against Tigers’ starter Alex Faedo.

Faedo made his first start of the season last week vs. the Cardinals; he went 4.2 innings giving up two earned runs from two solo home runs. While it is a small sample size, Faedo doesn’t have the greatest track record. Last season he had a barrel% of 9.8% and a 39.1% Hard Hit%. Teams and players can square one up and leave the ballpark.

Mike Trout (+265)

Believe it or not, the Cleveland Guardians’ current pitching staff has done a great job pitching around Mike Trout over his career. Trout has 21 at-bats against current Guardians pitchers and has zero home runs while only batting .238.

But before we get ahead of ourselves, let me remind you this is Mike Trout we are talking about. He is 2 for 5 against tonight’s starter Cal Quantrill. And while Quantrill was dominant at Progressive Field last year has struggled this season.

Cal Quantrill’s ERA of 3.89 doesn’t tell the whole story; he has an xFIP of 5.28 and a SIERA of 5.41. Those advance metrics are incredibly high, especially since most of his starts are against teams with poor offenses (Seattle x2, Washington, Detroit, Colorado, Yankees, Twins)
